Can the drivers control the clock speeds on different applications?

Of course they can Sonda. But they don't change your bios. They just select the different P states.

Just go back to the older drivers. There's no point in trying to troubleshoot the new ones.

So far it's not proving to be a very good overclocker. Though I wouldn't hesitatae to blame my old ass motherboard like I do for all my OC woes, namely my 965 and prior 940.

870 wasn't stable on 1.038v... or 1.05v... or 1.063. But 880mhz at 1.075v has proven to be stable thus far. Though I'm sure Warhead or another game will prove me wrong soon and randomly crash after hours of stable gameplay today. I'll be surprised if I can get 900mhz out of this 448.

EDIT: Well reading back through the topic some has reassured me a little it may just be the FTW edition that is hindering my OC potential. I wasn't aware it has less VRM than the Classified model and was the bottom of the barrel when it came to 448's, lol...

But I'm really not disappointed. Everything I've played/ran/tested so far has shown me better performance over my SLI 460's. Which is more than what I asked for. So I can't complain. I'll keep testing 880mhz @ 1.075v for stability and then see what 1.1v will let me hit. Temps still look great even with the voltage bumps. Doesn't seem to peak past 70c much while gaming unless it is warm in the room. Idle is 30c right now which I'm happy about. biggrin.gif

That is what I did and clocks are working fine again. Irritating that NVIDIA would do this.

Are you certain you just didn't accidentally change the adaptive power feature? Prefers maximum performance will run your gpu at P0 all the time. It's in manage 3d settings.

I'm certain the adaptive power feature wasn't the problem. I manually selected both settings and the same problem would happen. My 3dMark11 scores are kicking again. smile.gif

New user here i have Zotac GTX 560 Ti 448 running at 920MHz core, 1840Shader and 4400MHz memory at 1.1v. 30C idle and 75C load. Not the best cooler, but still good enough for OC.

Just thought i'd share that.. I'll update with some 3dmark11 scores, i've only done 3dmark vantage so far (P18392)

Damn, it seems I should've ordered the Zotac instead of the Gainward then. smile.gif My temps go over 80'C when I do some serious overclocking.
What does your fan speed profile look like? Do you have it running at high speeds under load?

Edit: Over 80'C in OC scanner furry test that is.

Edit: Over 80'C in OC scanner furry test that is.

Mine has never gone over 80 yet when OC'ing.

40% (minimum fan speed) at 30C
50% @ 40C
60% @ 50C
70% @ 60C
80% @ 65C
85% @ 70C

85% is max that i can set it at, that about 4800rpms.. So it sounds pretty nasty when it reaches 70C smile.gif But overall when im gaming it's OK and you don't think about it as it doesnt reach those high temps to go at max. up to 50% it's very quiet though.
