Well, you take your chances on the internet frown.gif.

I'm down to one card sadly, and I can't run Surround. I'm just going to sell some stuff and buy some new gpu(s).

Without getting too far off-topic...

Definitely look into the 660ti that should be coming out this month. Probably going to be under $300, so 2 of those would be right up the same alley of 2 560ti, but even better.

the highend cards have some massive coolers. Would be befitting since I bought a Silver Arrow for the cpu....but then again if I want to run triple sli down the road thinking.gif. Right now non-reference cooled 670s and 7950s seem to be at the right price range smile.gif

hey everyone i'm switching from ati to nvidia because i'd like to run multiple screens using nvidia's drivers rather than ati's.

i've selected the gigabyte gtx 560 ti 448 fermi card. I need a backplate for it. can i use any backplate that has been made for the gtx 560? the pcb is blue for this card and that does not go with my planned setup.

I haven't bought the card yet, however it's a good price point and already comes OCd at 900mhz and 1800 on the shader. i'm going to be watercooling this card in an sli setup.

any suggestions, especially concerning the backplate, are greatly appreciated.

thanks!

is it possible to use a gtx 570 backplate on it?

Its using a custom pcb, so most likely it wont fit.

Look for a gtx 560 ti 448 w/ this pcb:

281

296

These use the same water block as the gtx 570 "V2" and you can use the back plate. i know Heatkiller makes a nice looking backplate for this pcb design.

edit: here's the HK backplate:

I have a quick question for you guys. I am testing out some overclock settings on my Galaxy GTX 560 Ti 448 and currently have the settings at 770MHz at 1013mV (started at 732MHz at 975mV). I get temperatures of 72C when I check the temperature while gaming. If I click on the little vid test in Afterburner, the temperature starts to climb very quickly to well over 80C. I am hoping that this is completely normal. I always shut it off before it hits 85C even though the card is rated to function up to 97C but I rather not take any chances. Also looking into Accelero Xtreme Plus II if need be to get to 850MHz.

this bumps me up in price about 35 bucks, which puts me in the bracket of the 570. from what I understand the gtx 560 ti performs comparably to the 480, however, this particular edition (448) is supposed to perform even better. since they're equally priced, do you think it's still a good idea to stick with the 560 ti 448 or move to the 570? there's more vram on the 570, but i'm not sure how important that is on nvidia cards compared to their ATI couterparts.

any thoughts?? smile.gif

EDIT: the two cards preform almost the exact same. i'm not sure what the OC head is on the 570, but i think i'll just stick with the 560 448. ugh moneyyy

i'd say your temps are right in line. temps on stock clock are 70C, generally you don't have to worry about heat in gpus as you do with cpus. as long as you're not going over 100C, you're within normal. obvs it's better to not be that high if you can help it, so the new cooler would probably be a good bet.
