The MSI Card and the Evga Classified have 6 phase power so they do not have the reference 570's problem of dying at 1.1v!

Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't see how it's a defect if a card doesn't hit a specific OC. Overclocking on anything is never guaranteed due to the way chips are fabricated.

The only thing a company can stand behind is the performance at factory clocks and voltages unless they specifically guarantee an overclocking headroom.

As for my card, it goes to 860 @ stock vid (1.013) but after that the volts start to ramp up. Another card might do better, while another not as good. That's the dice you roll.

Stop worrying about not hitting 900 at low vid and just enjoy the damn card.

It's not about the OC, if you read it earlier I was artifacting AT stock settings and my 3DMark scores are a bit lower, even the EVGA Support believes something is wrong, I'm being forced to overvolt the card to get the standard clocks without any colors popping in.

I get this sometimes in Bad Company 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_kzhqckO1ug

Driver issue? I used the drivers that came on the CD with my card.

If you are having the issues at stock speed and voltage, than I would say there may be an issue. Have you left it at stock speed and raised the voltage a notch or 2? May just require a little more power.

What??? Please don't say this. I just bought a second one for a SLI setup. What issues are you having. I really only play BF3, Skyrim, and Batman. I really hope I didn't make a mistake here because I was going to sell my one and go with an amd 6990 or something like it. I hope they are older games that I do not play. That's a bummer bro, but I think the new 7970 has bitten you. biggrin.gif

This is the real reason! On older games, you do not use SLI anyway! You just disable one card! biggrin.gif

There is nothing two of these cards will not play slightly faster then a single 7970!

To eliminate all artifacting at 797 MHz I need to bump it from 1.038 to 1.075 which is pretty high for stock, I'm running it downclocked to 750 which runs fine at 1.038V until I get confirmation on a replacement.

Farcry2 geomtry errors only when in SLI mode, both work fine independant, Company of Hereos i get vertical bars not when the cards are run solo, MOH Airborne, strange artifacts only occur in SLI lol.
