For me since it's hot in my room and I run 2 of them, I start at 50*C at 60% fan speed to 75*C at 100% fan speed. It's a straight line so it ramps up nicely. But that is with my room being 80*F+. If that does not bring temps down check to see that both fans are spinning. If all else falls you can RMA if you think something is wrong. But remember that the avg max within safe limits is around 90-95*+.

Thanks Terry,

I appreciate your reply. I know it's not unheard of temperatures, but it does seem quite high in a cool room (Winter here), with no overclocks, everything stock. I can actually feel the 80c heat exiting the case. I want to SLI, and/or Overclock, but these type of standard temps in the 80's within 5-10 minutes of gaming had my concern.

Just to give you an update I contacted EVGA. And I was really happy with their response. They are willing to RMA the card for me. I have to wait 1-2 business days for approval. If this is the case I may very well look into getting another card.

Thanks again, appreciate the feedback. Good to have some confirmation that it is a bit high for a non oc'ed card. Also are you using the Classified card? Because 60% fan speed is quite loud on mine. Anything above 52-54% fan speed starts to get distractingly loud! smile.gif

Did some more tweaking today.
Discovered my card doesn't like being set at 925Mhz. I got a 3DMark11 score of 5965.

So I decreased it to 900/1800/1950 @ 1.038V (1.05V didn't help the score) and I got a score of 6520, a huge jump. http://3dmark.com/3dm11/2691618

Also I OC'ed my CPU to 3.612Ghz recently from the stock 2.66 and that has helped some too I believe. Not sure if the new Sabertooth mobo is helping or not. The new cooler is for sure thumb.gif

Hey not a problem. I use the MSI cards but the EVGA card should still run cool. I must say that I have been very lucky to only RMA one thing (ssd) since the build. Even if it turns out the card is bad and you do rma it, I would not let that sway you from keeping the card. They truely are great cards and the performance says it all. Sometimes you get an egg. Also what case are you running and have you tried it with the side panel off. Either way let us know what you find out.

Not a bad score. Highest for me is 6700 with a 925 oc. But I have since lowered it due to running 2 of them. Also oc'ing the cpu does help for sure cause it could create a bottle neck. Funny thing is when I put the second card in I kinda knew (from the first card) how far I could go with the oc and I was in a hurry to try it out in bf3 with 3 monitors so I brought the voltage slider up to 1.08 (something close to it) and the core to 900/1800 and memory to 2050 and started the game. No testing or nothing and was able to play on 3 screens for hours on in with no crashes. Once I get some time I will go back and tweak the voltages some more. I think a lot of people under estimate these cards and go with the 570's. But with Kepler coming we will see how they compete.

If it's new the thermal compound could still be setting in, I remember the first day I had it I was hitting 88 Celcius in Battlefield bad Company 2 (even with Vsync on to lower usage) but now I usually hit 72 ish, and my case has HORRIBLE airflow.

I just don't know why my 925 setting had such a low score. And then dropping it down 900 gave it such a huge increase.

Huh, I think that is almost the exact same score I got!!!biggrin.gif

I think the sweet spot for these cards(classys) is 900/1800/1950. I am running the same voltage as you.....

This card reminds me of a GTX 470.

Good card.
