Seriously get out with your mumbo jumbo. The OP already stated they want a 8150, why must you insist? I knew that wouldnt take long. This site kills me with all these people. There isnt Intel fans anymore they are just fans of thrashing BullDozer to no end no matter what the thread topic is these days wow....Get the 8120 to save a few bucks. I follow the BD owners thread and majority that have 8150 wish'd they woulda got the 20. Or if thats not an issue by all means get the 50 maybe you get a golden chip that unlocks 16mb L3 cache like the opterons hehe (just kidding but would be nice)

you know the OP asked for critique...

Basically after changing to 8gb of RAM, I'd opt for a 2500K/2600K as well if we're strictly talking about performance. Now tweaking and having fun with OCing is also a valid reason and if you see BD as a more fun proc to fool around with, then there's nothing wrong with that. But with a 2600K/2500K you would have more performance as well as more bang for your buck. thumb.gif

go with intel!!! also, if you can get 8gb of ram for cheap, then why not, but I don't think it's becoming the standard. Who really needs 8GB of ram daily? lol.

OP edited

I got on the Tebow bandwagon have to love that kids convictions plus I hope the Bears get "tebowed" this Sunday tongue.gif

Like Tebow the Bulldozer has gotten a lot of hate thus the name wink.gif

So I edited the memory and the motherboard is the PS ok? And I would be better off with a single Radeon HD 6950 2GB GDDR5 vs 2 6870 1GB GDDR5 ?

Yes. a single 1GB 6950 would perform better in games without problems, unlike the XFired 6870. biggrin.gif

Arrow! Glad to see you sticking with what makes you happy.

I don't think I'd personally bother with two 6950's, but as you said, it's Christmas! If you have the funds and want it, nothing is overkill. We'd have no SR-2 systems with that sort of mentality! If it were me, I'd be opting the 2GB version of the 6950. Maybe it's just because I'm the sucker who has been silently wishing for some tri-monitor loving for so long. If you never want to go that route then 1GB is fine.

I would vote to ditch the fx-8150 in favour of a 2600k personally, I think you would have much more fun biggrin.gif

Two of those would last you quite a while I think. Worth it.
