Is this a good deal for a new rig? Compare to my own build

Been in the market to build a new rig but haven't found anything that has jumped out at me. I Just stumbled upon this though.

http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1409689&sku=B69-1373

GIGABYTE GA-Z68AP-D3 V3 Black Barebones Kit

GIGABYTE GA-Z68AP-D3 Board
Intel Core i5-2500K,
8GB (2x 4GB) DDR3 RAM,
Radeon HD 6870 1GB,
1TB HDD, Seagate 7200
24x DVDRW,
Thermaltake V3 Black Mid Tower, 600W PSU

$599 ($699 before rebate) + $25 shipping
$819 after tax and shipping

The price seems amazing but I have already mapped out a rig I want so hopefully someone can shed some light on the differences and maybe push me towards this new one.

MSI p67A-g43
i5 2300
pny 8gb
GTX 560 ti
500gb Black caviar
cooler master 500

$900+ after tax and shipping

I like the Tigerdirect bundle compared to what you have posted, I'm not sure why yours is so much more expensive. Maybe link to the site your shopping on so we can see prices? We can probably do better.

The tigerdirect bundle has the i5-2500k / Z68 for overlocking, your bundle has the older P67 motherboard along with a processor that wont be able to overclock.
Your choice in videocard is slightly better than 6870.

Everything else is pretty equal, honestly I'd go with the Tigerdirect bundle.

The only thing I'm skeptical about is the PSU. That board also doesn't OC high.

I would go for the bundle, since your selection cannot yield OC.

I was thinking the same thing. But the i5-2500k > i5-2300. PSU is very shady.
Also, are you near a microcenter? I am sure there are plenty of people on OCN that will be able to help you get the most bang for your buck with a budget of $900.

Of the two the bundle is better. Too bad you have to pay tax.

I shopped around and my original build is basically modeled off of a guide i found for building a budget rig to play BF 3. http://www.geforce.com/Optimize/Guides/how-to-build-a-kick-ass-battlefield-3-pc

So i took some of those components and used 3 sites, ncix.ca, newegg.ca and tigerdirect.ca. I made a chart and compared the prices for all the components but I guess you do pay more if you don't bundle.

I like the idea of OC so the 2500k sounds good but i'm still new to it. I guess to simplify things you could say i'm looking to build a rig in the under $1000 ranger. Not too picky with what I want but USB 3.0 and perhaps sli or crossfire ready would be nice. I like the idea of having the option to just put another $200 into a second card in a couple years and plopping it in next to my original card without having to spend more money on increasing psu or anything like that. i know i'd probably have to upgrade fans but thats better than a new mobo. The price of HD has increased like crazy so thats another thing to keep in mind. I love WD but might have to settle for something else.
