If you filled the internal cold loop with Ethylene Glycol and cranked up the TEC's with external power supply etc. How cold could this block go?

The problem isn't that the block won't get cold. The problem with Direct dies is that the heat cannot pass through the metal fast enough, causing a back log of heat. This barrier seems to be about a radial distance of 20mm from the heat source. Depending on the heat and what kind of metal, the better the ability to transfer heat, that distance will increase. The trick is keeping that distance within range of the cooling source. Right now A dual TEC block has too great a distance from the from the heat source to the TECs that any configuration that we've seen has been just as effective, or just a little bit more powerful than a single Direct Die TEC.

I seemed to miss read what was being written here lol but the chiller would work fine so long as the Hot loops was kept cool and the cold loop did not freeze

Theres nothing wrong with using chillers. They preform better than the Direct Die solutions be cause the chilled water cooled by 2 or more TECs hits the CPU with less thermal resistance than what a direct die can offer. Also you are not limited by space around the CPU socket, which allows you to chill the liquid to freezing point before the cooling solution shows any problems. Granted if you do that, you'ed have to worry aout insulating. So my point is a chiller is a much more powerful cooler than a direct die. Direct die is just less work to use but isn't as powerful due to physical constraints.
