MSI RMA experience - Page 2

This situation could literally happen to anyone with any company. You just got some bad luck. Take some pictures and demand that they pay for the shipping costs, since the card you received was defective.

I RMA'd a motherboard a few months ago and it was pretty painless, appeared to be a brand new board and worked just fine.

I wish I can get msi gtx 480 lightning brand new replacement, but I doubt it. I really hope I can get fully working replacement.

I did took some pictures right now just in case. I didn't know that rma replacements are not tested before they ship.
msi gtx 480 lightning default core clock should be 750mhz, but not sure why original and replacement are 701mhz core default clock.

Msi customer support I have dealt with them a couple of time. They always returned my calls when I left a message. I had to return 3 cards that I had found out later that my powersupply caused the damage.
What you need to do is call them and get a customer support rep on the phone that you can get an extension for. That way you call them every 2 days on the status. What the rep will do then is they will pick out a card and test it before sending it to you. to Make sure you get a good card this time around because after the third time they have to give you replacement of equal or better this is how I got the 580 i'm running now smile.gif You have to push the issue with out being an ass and you will get what you want. There customer support is very good you just have to be on top of it. It go's to say out of site out of mind. I could pm you my rep extension if you would like.

Yes, please. I might have to call them, so I can get a working replacement.

Btw any card returned to Msi is test to make sure that there is a problem with it. Most refurbished card has most likely and returned card and have been tested. The only problem with this is that is a burn test and not a real world application like games
