Need Advice: Headset/Gaming headset/Speakers

So I am in the market for the below. I'll provide as much detail as possible. All items are going on my xmas list so budget will vary.

Headphones:
Budget: Under $120
Use: Listen to music (iPod, Comp), movies (plugged into my AVR/comp) possibly gaming
Brands: Open to all, I have been looking at the Audio Technica closed-back series. I listen to a lot of hip-hop so a nice balance of bass/mids is important, though I do like enough highs to hear lyrics. I want something I can wear for up to 8hrs day and that are portable (dont need to be perfectly portable, just not something that requires a forklift biggrin.gif ).

Gaming headset:
Budget: Prefer under $100, might be flexible
Use: Communicate over vent, listen to game audio late at night. Mainly will be playing some MMOs and single player games. Don't need to have positional audio features as I haven't done much FPS online. Will likely need something I can wear for up to 4hrs. Special note for both headsets, I want the gaming set to remain at my PC and the audiophile to be mobile (so two sets if preferred)
Brands: help...

Speakers:
Budget: Under $200
Use: Gaming, music/general PC audio
Brands: Any. Want a 2.1 system as I do not have much need for a 5.1 at my current desk. I have a full home theater setup so I rarely watch movies at my comp.

Currently do not have a 3rd party Sound card, I will use the onboard with my mobo (see sig) and possibly upgrade later. As for Mic/headphone setup I am ok with that but would like to have a dedicated gaming set I can leave at my desk, so 2 separate would be preferred but I can be flexible.

For the headphones I have looked at the following:

http://www.amazon.com/Audio-Technica-ATH-A700-Audio-Technica-Headphones/dp/B000E9VKUQ/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1323283115&sr=8-2
http://www.amazon.com/Audio-Technica-ATHM30-ATH-M30-Professional-Headphones/dp/B00007E7C8/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1323301319&sr=1-1

anyone know anything about the ATH-M30s? They seem reasonably priced, but I dont know about the audio quality.

Thanks for the help!

I would buy Audioengine A2 speakers, Ultrasone Pro 550 headphones, a mic, and buy a sound card like the Titanium HD or Xonar DX.

Much better than buy 2 separate headphones, one for gaming and one for music. That one will do both.

It is slightly vice grippy though and you may need to stretch them out a bit at first.

So i got to test the A2s last night and I was dumbfounded by the amount and quality of audio those little bastards pumped out. I will likely pick those up, thanks for the recommendation.

Now back to headphones. I tested out some Senn 280s and really like the closed-back bass I was getting. Unfortunately nowhere seems to carry any ATH-M series, so I am kinda in a pickle. I have been looking at the Ultrasone series and I am seeing that the M50s are slightly overall better than the Pro 550s for the music I listen to, tho seems like the 550s have a wider sound stage. That also said I am seeing good things about the HFI-580s.

Any experience with those? How do the 550s handle bass in rap music?
