Anyone excited? I sure am.

Been saving some cash and I'm wondering about getting a new card. Since I've never actually owned any of Nvidia's x70 (for example, 270, 470, 570 < which is what I'm looking at) and owned most of the x60 series (260, 460, 465), this is definitely an upgrade for me. (Currently using 460, 768 MB ver, don't ask. Embarrassing story)

I'm stuck between the 560-448 for $340+ and the 570 that's close to 325, but will probably end up $350 after tax.
Then again, Christmas will make it go on sale. I've been thinking really, really really hard..
I've come up with 570 on 480 cores vs. the 560 448 cores. Also looking at the Gigabyte Windforce, they've got an OC'd version for $370 at 845 core. Worth it unless I can overclock on a Windforce non-OC 780 core?

TBH, I've been getting interested in AMD's cards (jeez, coming from an Nvidia guy lol) like the 6970. It's priced around the 570, but I've never been an AMD guy anyways.

If anyone else has owned a 570 or 560-448, leave some feedback on the overclocking.

I'm inclined to say the 560Ti 448 since it's right up next to the 570 in performance. But i would wait a week or so see what occurs as a price drop is imminent.

Of the ones proposed, the ASUS is by the best.

Don't buy cards that come pre OC... waste of money. Why would you spend another 50-100 bucks to do what you can do on your own? -.- so those are thrown right out.

the gtx 570s will give you the most bang for your buck so the 560s are thrown right out... especially since they aren't 560 TIs tongue.gif

now you are left with EVGA, ASUS and gigabyte gtx 570

EVGA cards are easy to use and flashy... lets compare them to Apple products ^_^ hehehe the clocking speeds are lacking in comparison to others. Only one fan, so OC speeds are lower. cooling is therefore weaker in comparison to the others... size is nice though sooo...there's that lol

Now we are left with ASUS and Gigabyte. Clocking speeds are about the same, though when you OC on your own the ASUS will hit slightly higher marks overall. as far as size goes, they're about the same... HUGE T.T so if depending on your MOBO, or Case you might want to double check they'll fit. Also, if you plan to sli later down the road keep in mind that one of these cards might take up too much space on your MOBO and prevent you from utilizing another PCI-E slot... Both of these cards are pretty quiet though I have heard more reviews on the ASUS... both manufacturers have perfectly fine 3-year warranties. cooling on them are about equal despite the gigabyte having 3 fans.

If it were up to me, I would choose the ASUS... just because... lol

However, this is all just silly because you left out the two BEST GTX 570s available: MSI Twin Frozr III and the Gainward Phantom. Go look them up. now.

Actually they are 560 Ti, just given the fact that they've got 448 cores added.

And I did hear about the Twin Frozr and Phantom, but I didn't see them listed on the site. I'll give it a look and see if they're available to the local stores.
Also, Asus ftw. DirectCU 460

EDIT: BLIND AS A BAT. I did see the Frozr, but didn't want to put it here because of the price.. I could've bought 2 560ti's for the price of $400

Edit2: I thought over the Frozr, didn't seem worth $400 and no store have the Gainward Phantom.

._. where are you looking? ... show me where you can find 2 560 Tis for the same price as this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127582

and as for the phantom... yeah it's a pain in the ass to find... I thought I found one, but if you are in the US it can be near impossible... :/

So in your case, get the MSI card

and as for the phantom... yeah it's a pain in the ass to find... I thought I found one, but if you are in the US it can be near impossible... :/
So in your case, get the MSI card

Well since it's the American Newegg, I live in Canada. But then again the dollar difference doesn't make that much, but still the Frozr is priced at $400 here.. A couple
of 560ti's are for sale roughly $210

... well idk about the pricing for Canadians, but if you can find the MSI for the price I posted I would get that. Sure the 560 tis in sli are nice, but when you inevitably upgrade, both will pretty much be crap :/ guess it all depends on how future proof you want your rig to be, and the number of PCI-E slots you have on your MOBO... I would still get the MSI 570...
