Bought a PS2 mouse off ebay, no idea what to do with it?

Thread Starter
So I bought this mouse pad off ebay which looked cool, for only 6.99$ And the seller listed it as a 'current logitec model', did not specify what kind of connectors it had. So I was happy, clicked the 'buy it now' option, assuming it was a usb mouse. It came in the mail today and I was very upset that it was not a USB mouse but something called a 'PS2' mouse. I honestly have not heard of PS2 connectors till today (color me ignorant). So I ask the seller why he did not specify what kind of connection it had and he is acting ignorant about it. The question is, is there a way I CAN use it with my computer with some kind of adapter? Secondly how out of date is this kind of mouse technology? I am using an intel imac that is 3 years old. Thanks.

They make ps2 to USB adapters. Off topic, I'm surprised you've never heard of Ps2. I'm only 17 and I know what they are!

You must be pretty young if you don't know what a PS/2 mouse is.

There are adapters for it that you can probably get at your local Wal-Mart, OfficeMax, etc...They probably cost as much as the mouse though haha. But that is retail. Some people still use PS/2 today (mostly for mechanical keyboards).

you must be like 10 or full of **** if you havent seen a ps2 mouse before. there are passive adapters, usually come with the mouse but i guess if you go out to buy one it would cost more then the mouse itself.

as for out of date - ps2 mouse is every bit as good as usb one, usb is just more convenient to manufacture

Has computer advancement really gone that far people don't know what PS2 is?

OP, look for the purple port on the back of your computer, it better have PS2 ports. My motherboard is only like idk how old but it has ps2 as well.

I dont thing Mac's have PS/2 ports so that might be the problem here. It's going to be better to just buy a new USB mouse now.
