Slow Crucial M4

Thread Starter
Hi i think my crucial is slow compared to all benchmarks. I just did a fresh install of windows 7 ultimate 64bit

my system specs are

I7 870 & EVGA P55 FTW with AHCI on in bios.

Which sata port should the ssd be connected to on the motherboard? Like which is the intel and which is the marvell? Ive installed the latest intel rapid storage driver.

any ideas?

Flash the bios with the latest release, also you'll need to have a look at the mobo manual for the sata6 ports, if that board has sata6 ports on it.

I don't think the EVGA P55 FTW has SATA III (6 Gb/s) ports (I could be wrong). Your sequential reads are near the maximum for Sata II.

This is true. The EVGA P55 FTW only has SATA II.

In which case you're screwed. Those are pretty normal for SATA II

That being said though, give it a BIOS flash and see if that improves it.

4K reads are low though :/

On sata 2 I got 18-19MB/s

You have the newest drivers?

Give it a week, trim and Garbage collection may give you an improvement.

Instead of shutting down your pc just log out and leave it on a few times a week.
