It won't pass. You cannot consider yourself an American if you allow your freedoms to be limited or even devoured. You are a coward.

>he thinks that bill is about piracy

The Morality Club sure is gonna feel stupid in 20 years when they realize the "anti-piracy bills" they blindly supported were in fact corporate power-grabs and had precious little to do with piracy.

Ya know those cyberpunk animes that are set in a dystopian near future where the government is weak and ineffective and everything is basically ruled by (usually one) megacorp? We'll look back on those and be all like "Holy jesus."

Here's an idea: Get rid of all the suits in the RIAA that have absolutely nothing to do with the creative content but who make millions of dollars by sucking the talent dry. The artists will still make plenty from touring and endorsements....

it way more than piracy. I'm tired of Democracy and wish for a transformation into Totalitarianism. No more bickering about crap in senate/house. Decisions would be made, and our economy would grow stronger then it ever was. Closed borders is another wish of mine. Great things would happen for our country.

For those condemning piracy and stating that these poor corps posting billions in Euro's/USD are suffering and their super rich shareholders, CEO's and managers can't afford a meal whilst being driven home in Betley's and their limo's come to China. I'll arrange a lecture for you and you can tell these farmer's kids they should buy Photoshop and that their parents should work harder to feed these poor, starving corporations. You can tell them they should save up for months, forgoing clothing, food, books, etc. just to buy Windows, Photoshop and all their other programmes. I can't wait for you to come and tell these kids whose parents earn $150 if they're lucky corporate greed is more important than their welfare.

You heard of the Defense Authorisation Act? If you haven't you need to look it up because that dystopian world you talk off arrived over a decade ago.

If you don't know what it is and would like to earn more send me a message.

You can't possibly be tired of it, since it doesn't exist. The US is not and never has been a democracy.

Is that the provision that allows for indefinite 'detention' of US citizens? Yeah I'll PM you.

At the very least Piracy should carry a $2000 fine. Most would rather pay for their music/games then pay $2000.

Sadly you lost your remaining credibility here when you said you preferred public lynchings.

I posted this a few pages back and I'll reiterate. I do software development. I work for a relatively small studio. I'm not going to name names because I like having a job but if you know flight simulation you know who we are. I live off of monthly royalties that are directly impacted by how many people pirate vs. buy.

Last night I did a routine check on piracy on one of my products and found over a hundred peers on one torrent. However, this doesn't really matter. I have their IP's and their ISP's. If I wanted to waste time going after them I would. It's estimated that our piracy vs. legitimate user ratio is 3:1.

But it's not worth it. It's more profitable for me personally to spend my time improving my quality of work on a new product than chasing down pennies on an old one.

This is my perspective on piracy in a small market (<100,000 consumers)
