This may be true but says nothing about the average person does not manipulate file folders well and many games simply don't work for many people. My point still stands.

that is not true, in fact indie game developers suffers massively about piracy
for instance a game called "amnesia: the dark descent" almost not made it out of development because they have financial issues and when they are about to release the game, it got pirated
http://beefjack.com/news/reviewer-leaked-amnesia-the-dark-descent-say-frictional/
though, the game got good sales because of massive online discounts even though the game has exceptional rating from the community and reviewers

Not a good example, in my opinion. That game is an extremely niche market. Who plays 'I am gonna run away from the baddies' games? I thought it was a novel idea but boring in reality. I want to stand and fight. I want to button mash and run around. I don't want a game that I run and hide in a closet for several minutes waiting for a monster to go away. Boring.

Not to mention when "pirating" and or cracking a video game, you're likely to give up on online multiplayer, depending on the title.

if people are smart enough to install a torrent client, download the torrent file, save the installer and install it on to their pc. i do not see how a very basic step like copy-paste would be "too inconvenient" to "average person"

that is very subjective as other people would disagree with your opinion being boring.

the game is supposed to be horror and the "helplessness" and combination with excellent atmosphere, environment and voice acting makes the game the best in its genre

so you justify pirating because people can't go online?

how about the single player games that don't have any online multiplayer at all?

Just because overall people spent the same amount of money on entertainment does not mean that all businesses operating in that industry fared equally well. For example, I believe the article stated that the music industry lost profits while games gained or something like that. All this means is that people have the same amount of disposable income and they are going to spend it all either way. So now instead of people spending X money to get Y or Z product they are spending X money to get Y product while stealing Z product. The company that produces the product that people spend money on is doing better than before while the company that produces the product that people pirate is now suffering loss.
I say all this while fully realizing that you aren't willing to hear any of it, you've already decided to excuse bad behavior regardless of what anyone says.

You believe "pirating" is bad behavior and I do not. You believe everything the media tells you and I do not. Get over it & end of story. I bet you believed ABC news when they said black Friday was a turn around for the American economy. Bwahahahaha!

/thread

so you yourself present your own belief or opinion as a fact that everybody should believe in because you said so?

and bringing up something that is totally out of context or should i say derailing or "dodging" the thread by mentioning something that is totally irrelevant to make yourself feel better?

grow up and stop giving your imaginary concept of how everything works that every single person on the face of the earth "wants to hear".

i have witness myself with my own pair of eyes how piracy on our country makes every single movie and audio rental or shop closed and that is before most people have access to the internet.

in America, the situation isn't as obvious because there is no actual people that physically is giving or selling pirated stuff and instead people are using the internet as a medium to get their stuff.

Of course it is exaggerated. I use bitorrent a lot and I always buy games that i like. I always check out new movies first this way and if it is something worth watching then I go see it on the big screen. Hollywood cranks out so much worthless mindless crap now that I am very leery of forking out 30 bucks on a movie without checking it out first. I buy cd's still from bands that i like but i have of course replaced every cd that i ever lost through filesharing....I check out games the same way and I ALWAYS buy the registered game if I like it. I pay Comcast a ridiculous amount of money every month for my bandwidth and I will use it any way I damn well please. There are ways around bandwidth throttling and other ways to keep from getting the stupid MPAA letters if you look around the net.

People who think that buying CDs from big-box stores helps support the artist(s) need to familiarize themselves with how record labels operate. The band members don't see jack squat from record sales. If you want to support an artist or band, go to their live shows and buy merchandise there.

Not every band goes everywhere on earth so people can attend their live shows. Buying their music helps a lot, even if their labels take many of the profit.
Thought this pic is revelant, too.
