[REG-HARDWARE] Swiss insist file-sharers don't hurt copyright holders - Page 29

All this reminds me of the days of recording songs off of the radio to cassette tape.

We just didn't have a cool name for it back then.

I went over this already. Apply the scenario to your own job/career and your own personal paycheck if you are unable to deal in hypotheticals.
I guess I'll just hold your hand through it since I can feel this going around in circles. My point was that individuals who work for a specific amount of pay likely would not like it if their work was being utilized and they were not receiving pay for said work. This was in response to another poster who implied that game devs made enough money as it is and were greedy for wanting to make more money from those who pirated copies of their game. I thought it was plain as day that that's what I was getting at, but if you were honestly having trouble, there you go.

Yes i understand where you think you have a point but the amount of money that people think they might get and what they actually do get is never the same. You wouldnt expect to win a lottery every single time you play right? As for game devs - imo its their own fault for sucking so hard in software security. No matter how inconvenient the security things might seem to the end user, under the hood its like they dont even try these days. There isnt a way to make your game crack proof but its certainly possible to make it very impractical

The white knights in this thread make me sick. Such a simplisitic view can only be held by those who have been sheltered most of their lives.

I'll think of you when the only websites that we can use are those owned by NBC, ABC, CBS and FOX.
