New Heatsink = NO POST : (

Just installed this brand new heatsink and fan.

New H.S/Fan
http://static.highspeedbackbone.net/pdf/U12-40655_manual.pdf

-But after I installed it in the PC wouldn't Post nor Beep. Fans, HD, Lights all fine.

-So I remove heatsink and put on stock cooler (didn't even bolt all the way down) and it booted right up?

-I searched everywhere for a cause and the only thing i can come up with is.... My heatsink (new) was too tight?

PLEASE SHARE YOUR WISDOM bc I have yet to go home and softly install the new HS this time around to TEST.

damn good point... in my mind im like it should work i did the directions properly.

- What can i substitute for nylon washer? since i don't want to go to the store... for now?

Also if you look at the link all it is, is 4 screws through the backplate (they have tiny paper washer) to heatsink with spring loaded screws. Could it be the backplate when i tightened it, its touching the board or screw?

There is a short somewhere.

Did the backplate come with some sort of pad/cushion for between it and the motherboard?
Is it touching the motherboard at all?

Yea these little tiny baby washer no thicker than a finger nail. I have them on the backplate between rear screws and between top spring loaded screw and rear screw. Though i can't imagine they are doing anything useful.

I'll show you here is the heatsink.

I have a P5E Q6600 Mobo/CPU

**** i think i forgot to put washers on the backplate with rear screws.

The paper washers should be between the bracket and the motherboard, so that the metal doesn't touch the traces directly and short it out.
