Wait, so if I'm reading this right that means he just announced Acer is going out of businesses?

Think about it biggrin.gif

Don't worry, their plan is to now sell Expensive, Unprofitable crap! tongue.gif
But I hope they do pick up because I had a laptop from them and it didn't last too long!

i brought an acer laptop this past year and i have experiences with acer monitors, they aren't that bad

Funny that I read this now. I work on computers, mostly laptops at my job. We lease computers, mostly low to midrange models. I've taken apart over a thousand laptops of all different manufacturers. I took apart an Acer 5336 today. It was actually crumbling beneath my fingertips as I pried it open. The absolute cheapest quality plastic I've ever seen in a laptop. The way the parts were laid into the case was a joke. Acer isn't the only company though that has some really inferior quality machines out there. Compaqs are getting bad also. My advice if you want a laptop that will hold up, look for some of the "business" models like HP ProBook, Dell Latitude, or even some of the newer Lenovo Thinkpads. Stay away from Acer, Sony, and Compaq if you can help it.

Did you manage to get any pictures of this trainwreck?

My ACER netbook has been absolutely flawless. And I wouldn't pay a dime more for it. I see this as bad news.

Acer is the value-brand of the laptops, or any of there hardware. In my mind its: Fujistu>Toshiba>Gateway>HP>Acer>Dell/Alienware> Samsung>Sony>Apple>MSI>Asus (in that order).
