I own 4 Acer Laptops and 3 Acer monitors in past year, they all excellent products, only got rid of them cause i need money,

isn't it annoying there's always someone with good experience while most ppl says otherwise?

Acer doesn't make the LCD panels in their monitors though, they buy them from a panel supplier like LG and shove them into an Acer-badged casing. There's really not much you can screw up quality control-wise with that.


Personally I avoid their computers at all costs. Back when I was working at Walmart, Acer laptops were the number 1 most returned-because-defective brand of any laptop I had to deal with. People just saw "$299" and snapped them up.

Did I mention I did have one bad 3D monitor from them but customer service was a breeze and they sent me a brand new one right away? I used that one for hundreds if not thousands of hours and it worked great.

So yeah judging by this thread the computers have mixed reviews, but the monitors are almost all great. thumb.gif

I have an acer timelineX that used to have a battery that reports 5% wear on first boot. Chat with CRS and 5 minutes later he dispatched a new quality battery... Can't understand how is that bad CS confused.gif

I have 3 of the same acer monitor for surround. No issues what so ever, can't say anything bad about them actually. I mean I don't brag I have them or anything, but they work well.

You know, I can honestly say this, having an acer laptop in my house.... they are crappy hardware. My wifes 5630 is falling apart and it's only like 4 years old. You can't close the laptop due to a bracket that has come apart on left side of screen and base laptop. When laptop is taken off of Powercord conenction and left to battery power, it will power off within 5 minutes... the battery charges, just dosn't stay on under it's own power. Running system restore from recovery partition is a joke as it is corrupted, when asked about a repair disk under warrenty, acer took 3 weeks to respond, and then informed us that it would cost $20 + shipping. I have to say, I would never buy a product with an acer branding.... My wife will never buy another acer product again as well.

I use to really like acer and i still love the two monitors that i have, but the most recent item i purchased from them was an aspire series 5552 laptop, and it has some sort of weird hardware issue where it locks up for about a minute and then goes again. i still don't know why it does this.......
I have contacted Acer support several times and despite the fact that i tell them there isnt anything wrong with the OS they want me to to a full system restore back to factory install sozo.gif
