There is no way an X4 would bottleneck a 5770. Read my post on the ECC wall. That's most likely the reason.

lower your memory a bit. you should be able to bump your core to 1000. watch the temp. and like others said - oc your cpu a bit.

I'll try to lower the memory... It's an XFX HD 5770 and I didn't touch the voltage levels.

I'll read up on the ECC wall thumb.gif

Thanks for helping guys biggrin.gif

my cpu is at stock clock at about 2.6ghz (phenom II x4 810) I'm just wondering how much ghz do I need to stop the bottleneck if it is bottlenecking? smile.gif or should I lower the clock on my gpu a bit?
I've been avoiding to overclock my cpu cause I was planning to try my first time overclocking a cpu with a new motherboard(which will be a long time from now). If I could keep the over clock of my gpu by overclocking my cpu a little bit then I would try overclocking for the first time on my cpu. The only problem is how much overclocking would it need? any help would be appreciated... thanks biggrin.gif

Try this, download hardware info if you don't already have it,run the sensor when it starts up,this software will monitor your gpu load, minimize it and start up a game and after a few minutes chech hardware info to see whether your gpu load is above 90%. 50c sounds very low for that high oc,are you using an aftermarket cooler?

I have the XFX 5750 and i had faced the same problem as you thumb.gif

XFX sucks. They neither have a dedicated OC suite of their own nor do they allow for voltage increase.

I'll update when I can on the temps again...

Also would the cpu case matter on the temps of the video card?
I got 2x200mm fans and 1 140mm fan on a cooler master enforcer for a fairly good airflow

Edit:

Also one funny thing is I got a cooler master v8 on my cpu and still didn't try to over clock it. my cpu runs 32c idle tongue.gif in a 29c-30c room

Not really, yes your air flow will be good and case temps will be low but that is not enough to bring the cards temps down by 14c, Check your gpu usage during games and lower your memory to 1350 and let me know if you see a difference and keep me informed of your gpu usage.

I've tried everything, from trying every possible OC software to even modding the BIOS. The only other option is doing a pencil mod.
