Driver crash?

Thread Starter
Hi guys! So, I've been having this problem for a while now. Sometimes, when I am browsing the i-net, my graphics drivers randomly crash. It kinda scares me because my monitor turns off, it goes "No Signal" and after 3-4 secs it gets back with a msg box that says something like "your graphics drivers have crashed and successfuly recovered" I have the newest drivers by nVidia.

Is this bad? What should I do if so? I just wanted to be sure if this is nothing serious!

I know that happens left and right with older DX9 nvidia cards but I thought the DX10 and DX11 cards didn't really have that issue. I know after 270 onward my 8500GT is a dune of instability. you could try the beta 290 drivers and see if they help the issue. Its not a hardware issue. Its just a driver issue which is why nvidia and ATI come out with driver updates weekly.

Last night my 580 drivers were crashing while watching a YouTube video. It happened twice. On Weds I was playing Diablo 3 and had horrible artifacts, then crashed. I'm using 285.72 drivers.

Seems like this is only happening when browsing, at least for me, maybe it's some incompatibility with Firefox what do you guys use for browsing?

Yep, however had no problems with anything until i formated my hdd and installed newest NVIDIA drivers, so must be a driver thing, probably the best thing is to roll back until newer drivers are released, video crashing could be because of Flash, solved that by installing latest Flash Player.

If your using Firefox, try turning off "use hardware acceleration when available" in options and see if that makes any difference.
