Ok so i have been really looking into eyefinity setup for awhile now but i am seriously turned off by the size of todays current monitors, and have been doing some serious research, and i think im going to wait out on buying 3 monitors because i think Samsung might release edgeless (small bezels) monitors soon like there new smart tv's which i think are sexy.

So i remember hearing about a alienware curved monitor which would be even better then eyefinty due to zero bezels and came to realize that project was scraped but i came across another company make curved monitors which got me excited. the monitor was the Ostendo CDM43

Looks really cool. The main reason why I don't do multiple monitors is because of the bezels. I don't know how some people use it but I don't think I can stand a thick line through my game.

The price is the only downfall of this.

I do not understand how a bezel bothers people the 2 outer screens are ADDITIONAL to what you are seeing on the current screen,, its not limiting you in anyway, its a different aspect ratio not the same image just scaled wider.

edit: only in portrait are they an issue

Obviously. It's the discontinuity of the image that's the issue, not the visibility.

But its an extension to what you have, so you would rather see less then have a bezel then see more with a bezel?

The price is the only downfall of this.

I use a dual monitor setup where I work and its hard to believe but the thick bezels from the 8 year old monitors actually do not bother me. When I stare at the middle of the screens all I see are the two bezels, but for some reason the fact that it is just a continuation of the same image just makes my brain think there is nothing wrong with the fact there are a good 3.5" of bezel blocking my view or something.
It seems very weird but I prefer the dual screens over just one large screen. Something about having just one screen to work in makes me feel kind of claustrophobic in a sense like I just can't get enough space. This is especially true while writing papers for school or programming for class no screen could be large enough it seems like. At school we program on a 30" 2560x1600 monitor and it still isn't large enough for my liking.doh.gif

Really though, the brain compensates for the bezel and all you see is the image because all you are concentrating on is the center screen. When I game on three monitors I really only notice the bezel when the game is loading. Once fully loaded and I'm in playing it, I don't even notice it is there anymore.

I would love to have a monitor from these guys...

9X Media

Then there was this company that isn't around anymore, but they had the idea of a slim bezel several years ago...

Go-L

The 4 panel version "Grand Canyon" was suppose to cost around $17500, so your guess to how much the 5 panel was.

But then I also remember reading something about how that whole company was just a hoax or a scam or something. Real or fake, either way, they were some really cool lookin monitors, lol!
