NZXT Vulcan Watercooled Domination - LAN Rig

Woooo. Now that I earn enough money to just buy things.
I've decided to try out the hardware I've always wanted to try out (And own)
-1366 Platform
-NZXT Vulcan
-Asus Rampage III Gene
-moar GTX 460s
-GTs

And to test my possible modding skills.

CURRENT Status
450

THE BUILD:
CPU - i7 950 Thanks to gumbie for the amazing price (OWN)
Motherboard - Asus Rampage III Gene (OWN)
RAM - 12GB Corsair XMS3 (OWN)
GPU - GTX 460 x2 (Finding)
PSU - Undecided
Case - NZXT Vulcan (Ordered, waiting for delivery)
HDD - Due to size. I've gone with a 64GB M4 and a 2.5 1TB(117 AUD at JB Hifi.)

The Loop!
From what I'd seen the Vulcan didn't have much clearance for a 240mm rad in the top.
So I've had to find a rad thats nearly as thin as a NZXT 120mm fan.
I found the XSPC EX240. Seems thin enough. smile.gif
I know I will have to cut the top open to mount fans.

Mock Up Design
534

RED on the GPU blocks indicated the use of a EK Parallel Bridge, used one on my main rig. Preforms nicely.
Straight lines indicates the use of 45 Degree angle fittings smile.gif

PARTS for the loop
Rads - XSPC EX240, RX120 (Both ordered) and Black Ice GTX M92
Pump - Swiftech 355 (Spare I had laying around.)
Res - XSPC Laing DDC BayRes One
Fittings - Bitspower G1/4 Matte Black 3/8 Compression Fitting CC3
- Bitspower G1/4 Matte Black Rotary 45 Degree Adapter
CPU Block - XSPC Raystorm
GPU Block - EK-FC460 GTX - Acetal + Nickel x2 (Ordered from EKWaterblocks)
GPU Backplate - EK Backplate for GeForce GTX 460 (Ordered from Ebay, $20 AUD each!)
Tubing - Primoflex White 3/8ID 5/8OD

Random Pictures
Corsair XMS3, I took the stickers off to see how they looks. Turned out nice.
450

So gald I got the 950 biggrin.gif I was looking for a 920 or 930. But when gumbie told me about his 950
I had to jump on it.

Looks like it will be a nice board? Any reason for the 460's over 560ti's? Or just price.

With WC for lan's and so on, do you have to drain it each time you go somewhere? Or are compression fittings good enough to not be a problem?

GTX 460s cause of Price/preformance.
Was going to go for 470s for the same reason. But they generate much more heat in past builds i've done.
I've owned nearly every card in the 400 series. <3

And No I won't need to drain. I've lugged my Main Rig Multiple times nearly 600Kms by bus for LANs
It has the same fittings just in a different size.

600ks.. Quite the dedicated lanner, where in aus are you? I've been meaning to go to a lan, but never got around to any.

In Mildura. Victoria
When I used to live in Melbs I went to RespawnLAN very regularly.
But after I moved it became harder and harder.

So I still try to go as much as I can.
