I think I might have found my first tablet.......

BGR has learned from a trusted source that Samsung is set to launch an 11.6-inch tablet running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich next year, and it will most likely be unveiled at Mobile World Congress in February. Even though the tablet features a larger display than Samsung’s Galaxy Tab 10.1, we’re told that the tablet is “barely larger” due to the fact the slate will have a thinner bezel with a whopping 2560 x 1600 resolution, 11.6-inch screen with a 16:10 aspect ratio.

Darn it... I got my Xoom in October and now all of this crazy stuff is happening with future tablets. Oh well, still love my Xoom. Great device on the go and I got it at only $398.

Also, why doesn't this beast use a Tegra 3?

wow thats intense resolution. i dont see that being necessary, really. games wont play at that resolution, it would require too much GPU power. i guess you could view reeeeely reeeeely tiny text, or high resolution pictures... but why?

I also imagine that apps designed to take advantage of this resolution will be few and far between. Most will just be designed to work at the usual tablet/phone resolutions. This would only make sense for viewing text and web browsing. Even still, why? I find that the resolution on my Xoom is perfect and I can read most tiny text. Going from 10.1 to 11.6 inches doesn't exactly justify that jump in pixel count.

Thats awesome. I hope more people move away from apple. Simply too many people just get apple products just because of the brand but look at nothing else. Although i love the iPad i have at home but it just doesn't have much difference from any other iOS products, I love android because of the different UI changes with every big release.

The article says it will have a 2ghz processor. And given that Samsung knows how to make a damn fine SOC, this thing could probably run Crysis......

And yet my my 23" monitor is still at 1080p. Screw technology trends. I want a higher PPI desktop monitor. Come on!
