This, I have the 560Ti Phantom and it looks great

This. ^^^ Even if you dont want to buy a 7000 series card, the prices of the nvidia stock will drop. So unless you are in an emergency and cant wait 3-4 weeks DO NOT BUY ANYTHING untill the new ATI cards are released.

I would do one of 2 things before I would get a 590.

First, wait til xmas time or whenever Nvidia supposedly will be dropping prices of their 580s due to the release of the 7000 AMD cards, 2 580s > 590.

Second, I would wait for said 7000's, as a 7970 is rumored to be greater than a 580, and should be about the price range of the 580 today.

For those of you who stated a 560ti will max out everything in BF3 at 1080P while maintaining reasonable framerates, stop. Turn up MSAA and AA and watch it die. I would also look to get as much VRAM as possible, as 1-1.5 is going to be outdated faster than you think.

I have a 560Ti and I get around 50FPS when it's completely maxed (with MSAA and AA) at 1080P in BF3 so it performs reasonably well I'd say.

MSAA 4x AA 16x with everything on Ultra at 1080P while playing MP? Screenshots please.

not in multiplayer, in singleplayer because I wanted to try that before the MP. give me a few minutes to get your screenshots.

Join a 64 player game, caspian border and tell me it doesn't FPS drop!

Thanks for all the great tips, my temps seem reasonable good now and the fan doesn't make any noise, I removed another fan-pin to make the rotation a bit more even, seems to work OK for now.

I can wait until next year before throwing out my 460 SLI.

I wish you had asked this in the 590 thread because there wouldn't be so much misinformation rolleyes.giffrown.gif

The 590 is essentially, 2 OC'd 570's in 1 card...I say OC'd because once you flash it, it actually has massive gains on OC'd 570's in SLI.

I do NOT have FPS drop in Caspian or anything similar and in fact, lately I've been sniping from distances of over 500+ without any FPS drops/Issues etc...Actually, the only "lag" I encounter is due to server lag...It's kind of a bummer.

Nvidia has promised us an update in the future that will allow some OC'ing and we won't have to flash but, that's a ways out.

Kepler 680/690's aren't due until Q4 2012 and the 7000 series is due in Feb/March for the 7990 etc.

My ultimate suggestion would be to get a 590 because:
1) It's a limited edition card and once unlocked is actually a stellar performer
2) It will hold it's resale value better than the 570's...In fact, I just watched a 590 go on ebay for 1100$.
3) It's a solid card and an excellent performer.

If you have any questions, feel free to PM me.

Thanks a lot Masked. I'll be running my GTX 460 in SLI a bit longer to see if the prices drop on 590 after christmas. Did some benchmarks on my system with 3D Mark 06 and 11:

3D Mark 11:
467

3D Mark 06:
284

These numbers OK?

I thought 570 was down-clocked 580 and 590 was 2*580. smile.gif
