New build

Thread Starter
Hello guys, Im building a new gaming rig for in 1 week, and I need advice on parts,

My budget is 1000 $ looking for AMD build with a decent gpu, looking for something that will be easy to overclock and that will perform well, I already have a monitor forgot the resolution, but its an 32 inches Hd tv , planning on playing Diablo 3 , SWTOR , and World of Warcraft.

Thanks for responding !

Cheers, Matt

I would probably go with something like a Phenom II 965, 6950 2gb, Corsair 600W PSU, 4GB 1333 DDR3 memory, case of your choice, hdd of your choice (these are expensive, if you have anything laying around at home, use that if money is tight) and an Asus motherboard. For the motherboard, you only need to get one with dual PCI slots if you plan to add a 2nd GPU later. If you go that route, make sure it supports 8x/8x speeds.

With a $1000 budget and an AMD build, I would strongly suggest buying an ssd. This would help cope for the fact that its not an intel build. wink.gif

What about the cpu cooler, and i'll probly go with a 650 psu for Crossfire, since the 69 series tend to use quite a lot of power ^^

Good addition. Crucial M4 128 is a good addition if it fits in the budget. As for a CPU cooler, Hyper 212+ is a good budget/performer cooler.

I'm not familiar with the new FX line, but this has been a good choice for AMD for awhile. Are you against Intel? The 2500K is a great option for not too much more.
