[BuildLog]NZXT M59 Throwback Revitalization(Finished, for now)

Thread Starter
Main reason: love my case, want a quieter computer, want to overclock higher and want my old case to look better.

EDIT : rig builder works should show my current hardware.

I am going to plan out a water cooling system and do some mods to my case.
I intend to make a new side panel or mod the current one and do some cutting in the case for more efficient loop routing.
I am replacing all the blue with green(fans, LED's).
I am resleeving my psu and some sata's, maybe even fan cables?
Also I may paint some of the case to change it.
Currently it is air cooled with zalman cooler.
I have an nzxt m59 case and I would to have everything internal except the radiator which will be on top of the two 140mm fans mounted on top of the case.

This will be my first water cooled build(rebuild?) but since I have alittle cash Im going to try it.
System specs:
q9550(lga 775)
nvidia gtx 560Ti Superclocked(evga)
and mobo is gigabyte ep45-ud3lr.
I would like to include those three in the loop.

I would like to get 4ghz stable on my q9550 and get some kind of oc on my 560.

I would appreciate any recommendations for the water blocks, tubing, coolant, pumps, resevoir, or whatever else since I am new(im not asking you to build it for me, I am doing research on which I feel is best but would like suggestions)

I dont have the case measured as far as where I am putting the components inside but I have a good idea. I will be starting the project this weekend.

I will also post pics of its current state which it wont be in for much longer.

I will update when I am for sure ordering certain parts and post pics of the modding.

NEW UPDATE 12/10 Parts ordered.
CPU Block - XPSC Raystorm(also green leds for water block)
GPU Block - XSPC Rasa GPU(Also got Enzotech Pure Copper Ramsinks)
Resevoir - XSPC X20 DC-750 5.25 Bay Res Pump/Res Combo
Radiator - Magicool Slim Profile 2X140mm Radiator
Tubing - Primochill Polypropylene UV Green Tubing
Fittings - XSPC Chrome Black 1/2 ID 3/4 OD
Coolant - Distilled Water with Primochill Liquid Utopia UV Green
I wanna test out Liquid Utopia and if its no good ill just get Dead-Water.

NEW UPDATE 12/14
Some parts have came, but I wont have finished pictures until probably saturday.
Heres some pics of what I have been doing. Not alot of good stuff but I am still waiting on parts so bear with me.

What it used to look like sorta.

Check all of these out: (this is all personal preference and from my experience, are all top notch, high quality products)

CPU: XSPC Raystorm
GPU: Check out this site for EK cooling products (stay away from nickel plating)
MB: Check out this site for EK cooling products (stay away from nickel plating)
Pump: Swiftech 655 (popular pump)

As for tubing and liquid:
1. Distilled water gets the best temps compared to pre mix fluids. Best thing to do here is use some standard distilled water + Dead Water Biocide to prevent stuff from growing in ur tubing (such as algae)

2. Tubing is mostly personal preference...if you want to have a cool looking setup then i'd recommend going with some UV reactive Primochill Primoflex tubing. This is very flexible tubing and very high quality.

Liquid Dyes: I don't recommend using liquid dyes UNLESS you use Mayhems Dye. This is the only stuff i've ever seen to not break up and clog ur stuff up. best to stick with colored tubing but ultimately that is up to you.

Thank you for the informational reply, I will look into all of those. I was reading up about the Swiftech APOGEE XT Rev 2. Also I ordered some sleeving already and I want my whole setup to be UV. Mainly a green/purple/orange uv color scheme. It sounds random but I think it will turn out nice.

I will also note I would to go with fittings instead of clamps as I feel it would be better looking and functioning. If I am wrong please let me know.

you mean compression fittings correct?
yes these things are AWESOME
i swear by Koolance Compression Fitings they are extremely good quality
also, you shuld look into QDCs
they are awesome for adding or removing different components - i use them on my bay resivoir so that i can pull it out without any hassle....
i also have a T joint (with a flow changer valve) at the bottom of my loop connected with a QDC on the extra port.
What i do is connect some spare hose to the QDC on the extra port (extra hose has a female fitting while the T joint has the male) and flip the lever so that all the liquid gets drained....it keeps things simple when changing liquid or adding/removing components. (it keeps the liquid away from the PC while i drain smile.gif) i would strongly recommend using a similar setup.

EDIT:
i know that may be confusing...hopefully this helps cheers.gif

Yeah I know about QDC's just didnt know they had them for water cooling lol. They use them on aircraft (I am an A & P Mechanic). They seem super expensive tho. I was just looking at regular compression fittings as I am kind of on a budget. But I will have to look into them so removing components will be easy as you previously stated. Thanks for all the links. Do I need any special tools to install the fittings and hoses? Also that pump you sent me has barbs? Can they be changed?

no problem bud
and damn, that sounds awesome

the pump that i linked has molded barbs so they can't be changed, i'm sure there is some kind of fitting to change this but i guess you'd still have to use clamps then huh?
yea im not sure on this one....you could always look into finding a res with a built in pump...every one of those that i've have seen are G/14 threaded so you can use barbs/compression fittings on them

EDIT: and yea, QDCs are crazy expensive...i started slowly adding them to my setup...took me awhile redface.gif

Ok Thanks, yeah I am probably gonna go with a smaller res to fit under my optical drive and the pump to go under my hdd/ssd.
On another note, damn GPU blocks are expensive.

Aside from gpu and cpu which would be more beneficial to cool, NB/SB or RAM? I am not really worried about my HDD.
If NB/SB are the blocks universal? Or are there specific mobo ones?

Also as far as the radiator goes, do I have fans on top and bottom of it? I was thinking this is what I saw and which directions do the fans blow? I figured if it was both top and bottom on my cause I have 2 fans mounted on the inside and then the radiator on top and then 2 fans on top of the radiator. I couldve swore I seen it like that. I hope someone can let me know before I order my fans(it will save me some money haha). Since I want the radiator to have 2 140mm fans on it and thats the space I have on top of my case for it to sit I was looking at something like this here.
