**12/9/11**

The New Build:

-i7 3930K (Overclocked to 4.0 ghz or so)
-EVGA GTX 570
-2-4 OCZ Vertex II 30GB Drives (I already own 2, might get 2 more)
-ASUS P9X79 Motherboard
-Corsair H80 Water Cooling
-24 GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600mhz
-OCZ ZT 750 Watt PSU
-Don't know about a case

Tell me what you guys think!

Original Idea:

Hey guys! This is going to be a sweet build but I just need some help with the details:

Here's a general idea of the part list first:

-i7 980 (Overclocked to 4.0 ghz or so)
-EVGA GTX 570
-2-4 OCZ Vertex II 30GB Drives (I already own 2, might get 2 more)
-Rampage III (Formula or Extreme?)
-Corsair H80 Water Cooling
-24 GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600mhz
-OCZ ZT 750 Watt PSU
-Don't know about a case

This is purely a video editing rig... I am really bad at video games smile.gif

So I guess my main questions are these:

-What should i do about a case? How big does it have to be to fit the 570 (how big is the 570?) Should I spend the extra money and get a 580? Single programs in CS5.5 can't use 2 GPU's at the same time, but I will most likely going to be running premiere and after effects at the same time, along with Maya... should I get one 570 now and then get another one later if I need it?

-Formula or Extreme for the motherboard?

-Is the water cooling system going to be able to keep up? Any preferences on brands for water cooling?

-I am totally in the dark about the PSU... this one had good ratings and is on sale right now. Any suggestions?

Thank you guys!

Any reason you are going with the 980? I would replace it with the 3930K and a x79 board. I am an Asus fan, so I would go that route. I am not familiar with video editing, so you would have to do research on that on your own, but most of the x79 boards will support SLI. From a cost effective standpoint, 2 570s would be a much better value than a 580, but that is in gaming, and I am not so sure about what you want to do.

As for water cooling, its a whole new beast, and if you are not sure what you want to do, the easiest way to get into it is an XSPC Rasa RX240 kit. Most cases will have room to mount that radiator, and it comes with everything you need. The one thing you may want to switch out is the tubing, as the stuff that comes with isn't that great.

Thank you guys so much for the quick responses! I definitely think that the 3930K would be the best call...

I totally agree... for some reason I thought the 3930K cost over 1K smile.gif... Don't know where i got that from but now that I know i will definitely be getting a 3930K
