Hello to all! biggrin.gif

I am about to build my gaming build and I have most of the parts. I have a few questions. I need to know if my graphics card will work great with my processor and motherboard; or if it will bottleneck! Also, if all of the parts are compatible and fit in the case? And whatever else I need to know! I have all of the parts below that are written in GREEN. Thanks so much! biggrin.gif

Case: Coolermaster Storm Scout Ultimate Gaming
http://www.walmart.com/ip/Coolermaster-Storm-Scout-Ultimate-Gaming/12017715

Motherboard: ASUS Crosshair V Formula
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131735

Processor: AMD Phenom II X6 1100T Black Edition
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103913

Graphics Card: EVGA 03G-P3-1584-AR GeForce GTX 580
http://www.buy.com/prod/evga-03g-p3-1584-ar-geforce-gtx-580-graphic-card-772-mhz-core-3-gb/221200200.html

RAM: Crucual 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) - DDR3 SDRAM
http://www.buy.com/prod/crucial-16gb-ddr3-sdram-memory-module-16-gb-2-x-8-gb-ddr3-sdram-1333/216460831.html

Hard Drive: Western Digital Caviar Black 1.5TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5"
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136793

Sound Card: Creative X-Fi PCI Express Sound Blaster Titanium Sound Card
http://www.buy.com/pr/product.aspx?sku=207982712

DVD Drive: Plextor PX-B320SA 8x Blu-ray Drive
http://www.buy.com/pr/product.aspx?sku=211314077

Network Card: VisionTek Killer 2100 Gaming Network Card
http://www.buy.com/pr/product.aspx?sku=215928082

Card Reader: Ultra IDE Floppy Drive with Multi Card Reader
http://www.buy.com/pr/product.aspx?sku=210736380

Power Supply: OCZ 850W ZX Series Modular 80 Plus Gold PSU
http://www.buy.com/pr/product.aspx?sku=220689847

Will the GTX 580 run its max with the AMD x6 1100T? If not, then what if I overclock it, will it then run the GTX 580 to its max? Also does the motherboard support all the features?

Here are my peripherals:

Monitor: SAMSUNG 23" 2ms Full HD 3D LED BackLight LCD Monitor
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824001475

Mouse: Logitech Wireless Gaming Mouse G700
http://www.logitech.com/en-us/gaming/mice-keyboard-combos/devices/7244

Headset: Logitech Wireless Gaming Headset G930
http://www.logitech.com/en-us/gaming/headsets/devices/7248

Keyboard: Thermaltake CHALLENGER Pro Keyboard
http://www.buy.com/pr/product.aspx?sku=217284250

Everything would run smoothly and to its max on the monitor I presume? Including the 3D.

Thanks, and I appreciate all responses!

Why are you investing so much into a Phenom II? Why not get 1155?

If you overclock the 100T to like 4.0Ghz, it should be fine.

depends on the res and game you are playing

This. Not sure why you'd want a $500 video card with a slower-ish CPU that will hit a wall fairly quickly as opposed to the 2500k.

What if I overclock it to 4Ghz? Shouldn't it be fine?

I'm considering getting an intel alternative:

Processor BX80619i73930K
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116492&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-na-_-na-_-na&AID=10446076&PID=3641024&SID=skim769X53352Xa7c62749f7e8cfdafde37b3e25856ba2

and

GIGABYTE GA-X79-UD3 LGA 2011 Intel X79 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128532&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-na-_-na-_-na&AID=10446076&PID=3641024&SID=skim769X53352Xc06e20d94a0ffd37d172bcc05be06ac2

But why would I spend extra money if the AMD overclocked at 4Ghz runs the GTX 580 at max?

the 2500k is typically only 10 bucks more than the 1100t.

Still if someone can tell me if it will bottleneck or not I will love you forever. I've read some places it will run it perfectly fine.

Some confirmation would be great tongue.gif

Both option,i.e, i7 3930k and x6 1100t would be a waste of money.
i7 3930k is a waste for gaming(its meant for extremely heavily threaded application like animation rendering)
x6 1100t is also waste because i5 2500k is only few bucks more and is much faster.
i5 2500k is the best cpu for you.
Pair it with asus p8z68v pro/asrock z68 extreme4 gen3.
Get the msi gtx580 lightning extreme edition/evga gtx580 classified 3gb from newegg.
This is the best option for you.Hope you like it!

Even a stock x6 1100t,even a x4 955 BE @ stock don't bottleneck a gtx580.
Still at 4ghz a x6 1100t is beaten by a stock i5 2500k.
Go with Intel!

Gaming setup, do yourself a favor and grab a 2500k with a decent cooler. Clock it to 4.5ghz and call it a day.
