[Build Log] 3 for 1 trade HTPC trade up!

In my media console, I had a TiVO, Acer Aspire Revo, and a Panasonic BluRay all taking up a small space. I also wanted to replace the TiVO with a HD Home Run Prime (extra tuner! no monthly fees!). The Revo could NOT keep up with the 3 HD recordings.

So I had all of this in one spot:
450

to be replaced with:

Silverstone ML03 "Milo" HTPC case
Biostar TH67B
i3-2100T
2x2GB Corsair XM3 DDR3-1333
Corsair Nova2 32GB SSD
WD 1TB Black
Antec EA-380D
BluRay drive du jour (I'm borrowing my BR burner from my desktop until I get a reader to install in it.

Box shots!

I had a 320GB WD Scorpio Blue stand in for the SSD. The SSD was sitting in the Revo and kids were watching a movie.

This case is really slick looking:

The i3 and ram installed. That Heatsink. It's SO Tiny!

The Inside of the case, power supply and my challenge: all those wires.

Looks promising:

Admittedly, I was lax on the in-progress photos. I got caught up in the "where the heck can I put this wire" game.

Assembled:
450

Yes. That IS a tight fit. (I had no 90-degree sata cables anywhere).
450

MUCH more svelt! You can't see those cables unless you're taking a picture with a flash. So don't nag me to tuck them tongue.gifwink.gif

That looks really good, big fan of the case which actually looks like it belongs in the home theater setup. What program are you using to do Blu-Ray playback? That was the main reason I had to go back to my PS3, I couldn't find any 100% reliable software.

I ended up grabbing Cyberlnk's Power DVD, it integrates with MCE perfectly.

I was getting SO frustrated with the Program Guide in MCE. It was ALWAYS wrong! All sorts of tests and reconfiguring, blah blah blah, .... I had the date set wrong on the machine. rolleyes.gif
