Bulldozer STILL selling out of stock - Page 33

The thing is... There are better alternatives for the same-ish price range.
The 8120 is about 20 dollars cheaper than the 2500K.
Let's look at this from an enthusiast perspective.
When both are OCed to their max potential with similar/same cooling, which is the better option price/performance?
I'm sure the 2500K would win by a long shot and for a measly 20 dollars more all while using less power and having better single threaded performance.
Unfortunately people keep on beating the dead horse around here and it needs to stop.

I agree with this 100%.

For what it's worth I believe Intel currently has more value once you get to overclocking. A 2600k@ 4.4ghz+ gets in line with the beastly 980x at only a 1/3 of the price.

Does your computer work 1000x better with an Intel in it compared to one with AMD? Also brand loyalty defies all logic.

This is where benchamrking the programs that you use come in. Look at the reviewers that used the software you're interested in and make a decision based on what is the most efficient/ best price-performance / best performance in the stuff you will be doing.

Not all benchmarks are bad. You just have to know what to search for. Each user has individual needs and wants and they should view benchmarks as best fits them.

What is personal opinion is which ones of these benchies are important. However the numbers themselves mostly do not lie.

Im done talking about it. You guys are as d**b as they come. Unless you only use your chip to run benchmarks, benchmarks mean nothing to the performance of what you use it for.

Thanks for the insult. I'm sure it was needed seeing that I never insulted you.

Also what do you consider to be a benchmark? You can use synthetic stuff or just bench real life programs and situations.
Quote:
Also the benchmarks that you guys are talking about were all taken when BD first came out and there were many power saving features enabled such as apm that throttle the cpu when under load. This is why most benchmarks when BD released sucked so much because the chip was not staying at max clock during these benchs. Like I said before in my post, I was unhappy with BD when I first got it but now it works great for me.
It is hard to believe that the world has made it as far as it has when most of the population is consumed by people like this. Pull your head out of you arse and look at the big picture. When was the last time you look at BD performance. Go to BD owner forum and ask them for it. You will see that BD does not suck or if you want better proof than just repeating what someone else has said then go out and buy the BD and experience it for yourself. Good luck making it through life following what other people do and say. I feel bad for you people who really done have any idea of whats going on around them. PAY ATTENTION. I will not submit another post nor look at another post just because my IQ is dropping every time I look at your guys comments. This is just plain ignorance and stupidity. Either you are 8 yrs old or you really have no clue of what is going on in the world.

Yes the benchmarks we're looking at are from BD launch, I have not denied that. I will also continue to believe them until I see concrete proof of them being false, or not representing the current situation. If you have some new BD reviews showing improvements then please shaer, I'd be glad to read them when I have the time.

Also, I will not go to the BD owners club because I do not want to clutter the thread with useless questions that have probably been asked tens of times. If you have seen or have any real proof that BD now is noticeably better than it was on launch then PLEASE, and I can't stress this enough PLEASE share that proof. thumb.gif

I used bulldozer before and was quite impressed. I have an x58 and I had a p55 setup before that.

Exactly, I love the fact that these chips are selling. I would just let it happen even ENCOURAGE it just to keep the "war" going. It's been said 1000 times before when companies compete consumers win. biggrin.gif

If you use the Newegg "auto notify" for the FX-8150 you will have a good chance of getting one if you act as soon as you receive the e-mail notice. AMD is selling tens of thousands of the BD/FX CPUs weekly.

did you ever post how you calculated this?did you save any screen shots proving they sold 1000 in 2-3 hours?how do we know whether newegg even gets 1000 at a time, from most of the stories about glo-flo/AMD we have heard they are having problem even getting enough FX's out the door to keep stores stocked.
so please show some proof of the 1000 in 2-4 hrs for weeks.

Intel is much bigger than amd, so if you're really an intel fanboy, you'd be telling everyone here to buy a BD....

This, sort of. There's no free market per se but agreed on all other points.

I know this chart is from last year, but it shows exactly why people buy AMD, and also why they buy Intel.....
