Zowie AM Review - Page 43

Erm, i don't think you experienced the same, unless I'm misreading it. I think his switches flat out "broke", not "broke in".

You read right.

I dont know how this is possible, the switches actually never fail when I actually click something, if I click, the click will be registered.
It is only when I hold down the button for a period of time where it stops registering the mouse1 button for a fraction of a second, and thus interrupting the drawing process of the selection box, or when I drag an item in dota.

Bah, switched back to the G400 because I still play better with it due to the more responsive sensor. It's just to annoying in fast flick shot situations. I'm pissed off actually, because I really really liked the Zowie AM's shape. I kept raving on for years how I loved the MX518 shape but hated the prediction and now that it's finally there, another mouse comes along with an imo nicer shaper but doesn't respond quick enough to movement.

I play quake live and warsow competitively and didn't experience any lag or lack in response from the AM. I wonder what you guys are talking about......

I'm a med-high sensitivity and claw grip user, does this mouse suit my preference? From what I know this mouse has jittering issue when running at high DPI, I wonder that I should get this mouse or not.

it's fine if you run it at high dpi and low windows sens

imo. the mouse maybe difficult to claw grip if you're using stock microswitches since you have to grip it and press on the buttons hard at the same time to click

The mouse is practically made for claw. It's not hard to claw at all. Claw grip by the very nature of the grip puts more force on the switches, less surface area.

Was about to say sth similar. I feel it's ideal for claw and even fingertip too!

I've had the AM for about a week, and I notice a lag or delay after a few swipes. Skylit said because of the low LOD, it has issues tracking on lighter pads. I'm 500hz 1150dpi, on a Puretrak talent. I highly doubt I'm reacting the max tracking speed, I think it's the mousepad. Has there been reported issues with the AM and the Puretrak talent?

Also it seems to happen WAY more in Quake vs Tribes, and it's not because I move the mouse more. I think it might be an engine thing or something.

Thoughts? I was really looking forward to the AM, I feel like there's nothing really else to consider right now. Kana, Kinzu, Raw all suck. G100 has issues too right? That's probably the last mouse I could consider.

You might perform some checks with Paint or similar or look out if it occurs in other games too. I doubt it's engine related. Then again I doubt it's a mouse failure as I have none of those issues. Maybe software related like operating system or similar things. If nothing helps send it back and/or RMA it.
