Hmmz, perhaps prediction just "masks" the jittering rather then causing it (when having no prediction).

It is only when I hold down the button for a period of time where it stops registering the mouse1 button for a fraction of a second, and thus interrupting the drawing process of the selection box, or when I drag an item in dota.

Well, after about 2 months of using it I'm getting the same problem on my AM. Simply cant drag click anything anymore. Tried it on multiple computers and pads. TBH I'm kind of glad i have an excuse to chuck this thing, the switches on the AM are quite simply unacceptably hard to press, at least for RTS and some of the tedious motion graphic stuff i have to do.

I think I know what you mean, but could you go into a bit more detail on the "drag click" issue you're having ? Thanks. Sorry to hear of your troubles.

Basically, if I click my mouse and drag it in any direction (to move something, box stuff, etc.) the mouse loses connection to the box/item as if i stopped clicking the button. Seems to happen at random points every time too. Rather annoying...

I'd RMA it, never had that issue. Buttons scratching eachother is one thing, but a button that doesn't register at times is just aching to a faulty mouse.

In my oppinion the whole reason for adding Angle Snapping on early sensors was to avoid jittering or tracking inconsistencies.

RMA it. That's by far not the normal operation of the switches.

Rather have a few inconsistencies then prediction then tbh tongue.gif I can see the Zowie doing some mild jittering in MS Paint but it has never hindered me in games.

Depends.

If those inconsistencies meant a small up-down movement all the time, you would end up quite mad about it. Same sideways or diagonally (as the PTE does).

Most times when it comes to hardware it's cheaper to ignore several counts or processed results than rework the whole thing from scratch.

Also, even with mid prediction most mice were more precise than old ball mice, so it kinda also helped to get a better feeling on the cursor comparable to the smoothness of having a ball underneath the rodent. If it had anomalies like constant wobbling, noticeable ripple or any other anomaly, no one would've jumped to optical until the tech was mature. And looking how things went, that would be more a few years later than we're now.

It's speculation on my part, I know, but it just makes sense like that.

The thing is, as shown by people in this thread, it doesn't jitter on lower dpi. And since most of the fps gamers that would be interested in this mouse are of the 1.1 & wmo ilk, 450dpi is right in their wheelhouse.
