Zowie AM Review - Page 70

Thx a lot for your feedback, i think I just have to try out how each cgi setting work on the zowie with adapting ingame sense in terms of mouse-precision feel.
I should get the zowie am by next week and will also have a deathadder 2013 for testing purposes.

What bother me on the Deathadder since i'm playing low-sense (which wasn't the case when i bought it...)
is it's wheight & bulky design (size)... I just don't "feel" very agile with it...
on the other hand the sensor/precision and ergonomics of DA is great.

So I decided to try the zowie AM which is a lot lighter and smaller in form-factor compared to the DA...

I was also looking at the ss sensei (raw) which may would have been a good choice to try out because of size and wheight... But what i've read the sensor (laser in case of the sensei) has some acceleration...
but still think it's so marginal that when playing/using the mouse you adapt pretty fast to it without that being an issue.... maybe not even really recognizable...
maybe I get one to test, got QCK Heavy and a 9HD as surfaces as i read some reports about qck being a problem, others report it isn't a problem... so it seems zowie am vs. sensei am vs deathadder 2013... (due to wheight/agility i think it will be sensei vs zowie - let the games begin ;-))

Cheers

Hmmz after doing some testing, popping off the lens cap didn't produce the issues I had, but once you do this, you really have to make sure to keep the lens clean. A hair in front of the lens was making it go all funky.

First attempt with the 0.5x lense:

Dpi steps: blue 750 dpi; purple 370; red 150. The lod is very low. It is important, that the sensor height is already low (kingsis lense design?). I do not expect other mice (DA, Savu etc.) to work with this lense.

Performance! (Click to show)

Edit: Tests with SS NP+ and Func 1030.

Heh, knew you would get it to work. biggrin.gif

Scale past normal parmeters and you get a rather noticeable speed increase. And yeah, you're correct. That won't really work with any other mouse using similar architecture as typical sensor height/position is raised.

I actually wonder if MiCO lens shares the same basic shape. Modding could be easier.

I do not think the magnification is what raises or lowers LOD in any major way. I think it is more about the refraction of the light. The magnification does reduce malfunction speed.

It's a combination of height, design, angle refraction and LED.

Magnification, height position, LED intensity and data path will influence speed.
