This is a computer for a friends child who just need's to be able to play game's better then what his lappy is, so medium to high game's settings is all I am looking at.
So the A6 with something like the 6570 seem's a even better option then I was thinking.

No, I'm telling you, it's broken. I was right where you are 2 months ago, thinking how to upgrade. Dual graphics is a no-go.

If you get an A8-3850 on an A75 platform you could probably manage to max out all the games with just that and upgrade to a new video card whenever you need it.
A 6850 beats a 550Ti but I hate crappy drivers so I'm inclined to recommend the 550Ti if you do end up getting a video card

I read tons of horror stories about how dual graphics either gives only the exact same FPS as the discrete 6570 alone, or gives terrible screen tearing and driver issues. Every review and forum post on dual graphics was negative. What have you combined for her?

Honestly I would go with a MSI 6850 and FX4100. It would be well worth it to make room in the budget, its not that much more.

I have built two rigs for friends with phenom 2 based CPU's and 6850's and it maxes all but the most recent and most demanding games.

Fusion based CPU's aren't designed for gaming anyway, their designed to give office computers and HTPS's a little more horsepower and reduce power. It really won't be all that great for him.

Dual increases FPS slightly in some games, but not worth the extra card... Im waiting for the technology to get better, but I had the A8 for a few months without a discreet card, and it worked on all the games I played... Added the 6670 and realized it was almost better just to use the hd 6670 without the IGP. So if you go A8, not worth the dual graphics, instead spend more on quality ram thumb.gif

Yes, RAM matters a lot with Llano. I had prepared some 1866 sticks for the upgrade, but canceled all that and went the cheaper route wink.gif
