(DELETE) i have the worst luck. so i go to open my case to see why one of my cd drives isnt working.. fix that, close the case up, turn it back upright. then im just clearing some wires, and as i move them to the side of my comp the end of one hits an exposed part of the mother board (i leave the case off on that side) , i see a spark, and the screen goes black ! i turn it off in hopes for it to turn back on.. but no. it wont turn on anymore. did i just fry the mobo and cpu ? god im so stupid

Ya, you should always turn it off including the PSU. The only way you will know is to first try a different PSU and make sure that it's not that. Than start swapping out components to see which ones work and which ones don't. If I had to guess I would say you killed the PSU or the MOBO.

Dejavu You should disconnect the rail that hit the side from all components that it is plugged into and try again.

Look at what happened to me...sound familiar...its towards the end of the thread...

Did you do what i recommended? Try disconnecting everything from the rail that you hit the side of the case with.
