Computer boots twice when powered. - Page 2

There's no problem, it's just your motherboard's safety features. Mine does it too.

Essentially (don't quote me, I can't remember why it does it exactly) if you're overclocking some motherboards will do a two-boot thing, once to make sure that you're not going to blow something up, and then once for normal boot.

The thing is, that everytime it boots twice it goes into a black screen with a blinking cursor and I lose any control of the computer.

I'd guess you have an issue with your overclock then. I know the double boot is normal though.

I believe it only happens when I have pll overvoltage enabled.

I also get a double boot on my Gigabyte board. I've looked into it and as the other guy said it's some sort of a safety feature that is built in and, at least on mine, theirs no way to disable it.

Only happens when PLL overvoltage is enabled. If your overclock needs it then you just have to live with it. I had this issue since the day I got my i5 and it's just a minor annoyance. Dat 4.8Ghz is worth the long wait biggrin.gif
