Problem with benchmarking Metro 2033

Thread Starter
Hey guys, well today I installed the benchmarking tool of metro 2033 and when i want to start the bench an error pop ups, which is:

"the procedure entry point steamremotestorage could not be located in the dynamic link library steam_api.dll".

I downloaded the dll from internet and paste it on both system and system32 folders, but still it didn't solve the problem. What can I do?

Thanks in advance.

Are you using Steam?
Did you verify the cache files?
right click on the game, then click properties, local files, then verify game cache, and let it run, if anything is wrong it'll re download it all

I opened the properties of the benchmarking tool, but there's no part that says "Local Files". And no, I'm not using Steam, however I have it installed on my PC.
