Pc build, is it good?

Hey guys,

Soon i want to setup a new pc. The following hardware is involved:

Asus Maximus IV Extreme (3.0)

Intel Core i7 2600K

G.Skill 8 GB DDR3-1600 Kit 2 modules

2x MSI Twin Frozr III 6950

2x Crucial m4 CT128M4SSD2 128GB

Samsung SH-B123L

Corsair HX850W

thermalright silver arrow

Windows 7 64 bits

Asus Xonar Essence STX

NZXT Phantom Full Tower

I had a couple of questions about this.

1. Can the memory modules be used with this cpu cooler, because i thought it might be to big, so i cant use the 2 modules anymore.

2. In my phantom case I have mounted a 200mm fan on the side panel. Can the silver arrow still fit?

3. Is 850 watt enough for this setup?

Thanks in advance!

850W should be fine for that.

All you need is a 650w for that setup.

As for the silver arrow, as long as you mount the fans in the 1st and 2nd slot, then you should be able to fit 4 module of ram.

yes the 200mm fan should be able to be mounted, that case is huge.

Just a quick question, the motherboard you have selected has a decent sound card built in already, do you really need the Xonar card?

The phantom case looks cool, but the are other better air cooling cases... its made for water cooling.

Do you need 2 SSDs?

650w minimum, I would go for either 700w or 750w

1. you can just get a H60/70/80 or antec 620/920 to avoid any mounting issue. i hate installing those huge heatsinks the H60 was a breeze. and looks a lot cleaner in my case.

3. depends what brand/efficiency but generally yes. are you overclocking?
either way yes its plenty.

Agree about not needing the 2 SSDs, I would get one then a larger secondary drive. If you were planning to raid them then don't, as this leads to a worse performance.

If i try to install one of those, i get trouble witrh my top mounted 200mm fan

That is an A+ build. I'm sure some Phantom owners will chime in about if you can still have a large sidefan with the Silver Arrow.

The RAM should fit.

Get the HX750 instead and save good money.
