Bulldozer Power Consumption - Page 7

I'll post up my power usage in that thread once these pesky finals are out of the way.

Glad to see we can't have a BD thread without some a-hole threadjack it. It's like me yelling gay people are awesome in a room full of republicans.

It's been proven: SB cpu > BD cpu in performance per watt, dollar. BD is a blast to tweak, and has a lot of potential.
This forum is about the persuit of performance, not, my daddys CPU could beat up your daddys CPU. I hope the mods lock this thread.

Theres a normalized version of that graph floating around this very thread. BD is still way behind. even with an extra 10% it would still be 30% slower.

It does compare to both 2500K and 2600K and 980x in some things like it was supposed to do. Not all things, just some. Like multithreading or multitasking. BD is great at these things. Some of you guys expected BD to blow away the competition. No this is not true. But it does throw some punches with intel in some cases. Again, not all but some. Just like amd said it would. For those of you who expected BD to be some amazing super chip were just misguided.
Amd was quoting only the wins over SB before launch, and they called shenanigans (multiple sources, multiple occasions) on anyone who reported that performance was low. So AMD was indeed trying to convince everyone it was super win.

Like I said before, I never said that BD is better than SB.
The second thing you said is about the dumbest thing I've heard. If you haven't noticed that as long as an company has been around they always glorify there products. Every company does this so why is it a surprise that amd would do it with BD. Intel does it with all their products. thats what advertising is about. Showing people how great their product is.

Oh, and why don't you post some benchmarks?

So. I didnt build a server and for what I use it for $4 extra a month is hardly something to complain about.

Thats all these threads ever turn into is "my chip is better than yours, neener, neener, neener, hahaha". It is so dumb. No intel owner can have as much fun overclocking their chips as you do with BD. Intel only has one option to adjust and thats. Lots of fun. Yes SB has already been proven to this point to perform better than BD overall. I dont understand what point they are trying to make.

We know that intel has better processors than amd. Why do you keep repeating the same bullslit for over and over again.

This is all I here in these BD threads:

SB is better than BD
SB is better than BD
SB is better than BD
SB is better than BD
SB is better than BD
SB is better than BD
SB is better than BD

This has already been proven. Why do you guys keep saying it? the more and more I hear you guys talk about this convinces me that you are dumb.

Its like a group of reetards stuck in a room full of bouncy balls.

And if you live in California where it has ridiculous kWh rates, definitely something you'll complain about.

I think bulldozer is a fun chip to mess around with. Hell, I bought an FX-4100 just for kicks. Power consumption is only valid when you are benchmarking the system or folding a lot. Most people here game with their systems and that utilizes GPU power more than anything.

You guys just cant stop huh. I really dont understand if you dont like BD so much "why why why" do you continue to talk and talk and talk about it.
Its just not logical. You guys continue to decrease my IQ every time I read one of your posts.

Nothing but a bunch of little 12 year old girls bickering and causing drama for no reason. (drama queens)

I dont understand what point you are trying to make. Its like as soon as you see Bulldozer you have to go in a post " SB is better. Hahaha "

If intel could see the people they are selling their chips to they would probably stop making them. You guys make the human race look like the dumbest species on the planet.

Just because we are criticizing BD does not mean we lost the right to debate about it.

Keep in mind all I said is that performance/power consumption ratio wise SB wins over BD. Surely you must acknowledge this fact. I didn't say BD is a complete failure.

So if you know Sandy Bridge is better than Bulldozer, and affirm it. Why do you keep touting that Bulldozer is still a better choice than Sandy?

Right... I think the problem is not that it is fact, but that people feel the need to keep throwing it out there. I can guarantee almost everyone by this point knows this. There is no need to beat a dead horse, but it happens every day for some reason. If someone doesnt know that sb draws less power, a simple google search will show them 2903428402 reviews that say so. So please, can we just give it a rest? This subject is old news, and has been for a while...

It ain't a big problem for average user, but once you start to OC BD, the power draw starts to increase rather quickly.

Another reason why people feel BD is disappointing is lack of big improvement compare to Phenom II. Mostly BD trades blow with Phenom II. So Phenom II users lack reasons to upgrade their systems.
