No that is a review for the 2410t. Senna was referring to the XL2420t review, even though that is not on the PRAD website.

wth.gif Im confused...at the top of the article it says "REVIEW: BenQ XL2410T"...... oh 20T ...... My mistake

Here you go. It is only a Test Preview but I believe this is what he was reffering to

http://www.prad.de/new/news/shownews_tft5042.html

and Translation:

http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=de&u=http://www.prad.de/new/news/shownews_tft5042.html&ei=WVrqTrnvLsyItwffqKTrCQ&sa=X&oi=translate&ct=result&resnum=1&ved=0CCwQ7gEwAA&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dhttp://www.prad.de/new/news/shownews_tft5042.html%26hl%3Den%26client%3Dfirefox-a%26hs%3Dhld%26rls%3Dorg.mozilla:en-US:official%26prmd%3Dimvnsfd

At the bottom you will see:
Quote:
Read our latest preview of how the BenQ in our test has come. The test we published on 20/02/2012.
If you click "in our test" it takes you to a page that offers to show you a preview of the test for a fee.
Quote:
The release includes a download as a PDF-document! You read this test exclusively online. This review is from 20.02.2012 available for free!
I think this means if you pay them you can get a preview of the test that will be available for free 20.02.2012.

The XL2420T is probably too much. It seems to be closer to $500. The XL2410T I can get for $310, which seems like a pretty good deal to me.

Do you guys think the XL2410T for $310 is a good choice? I won't be buying it until after Christmas, so I'll probably go with it, unless I find a good deal on something similar.

This is false when comparing a fast IPS to a random TN panel. You can't just trust a generalization like that.

I think what I want to do is spend <$350 for the absolute best 23-24 inch gaming monitor I could get. This would be good picture quality, accurate colours, deep blacks, fast response time, and low input lag.
And again, does anyone know if a 120 hz monitor would have any effect when used with the Xbox?

Consoles won't benefit from 120hz monitors due to the games usually running at 30FPS or a bit higher cap with semi-rare dips into the 20s.

Only a few games run on 60FPS on the consoles. I'm not that informed on which do, but I think at least some of the COD series do. They don't go any higher than that though.

The ZR24w and ZR2740w are decent choices for fps gaming if you desire IPS, but the ZR2440w has a bit too high input lag for my taste.

Best monitors for gaming in my opinion
i ON THE OTHER hand have own a dell Ips monitor and loved it for Photoshop and Movies but for gaming it was horrible specialy for COD as a pro COD player i notice the Respond lag the time it took me to move my aiming to the left while sprinting was really bad, even tho noob players wont notice it i did. so i went back to TN and cant say i miss those IPS monitor.

Advertised contrast ratios mean nothing. When dealing with some of the more popular models, actual, reliable contrast ratios are found in many of the reviews online. They quite often differ vastly from the advertised ones.

Also, the dell U series monitors mentioned in this thread are ones with lower input lag than the majority of 120hz monitors out there. I don't think you'd notice input lag. You might've had something with higher input lag, such as the u2410.

Also, it doesn't matter how "pro" or how "noob" you are, how much input lag you notice depends more on your playstyle than how good you are.

The XL2410T failed on many fonts, havin bad BLB as well as not having the best color production or blacks out there. The planar SA2311W is probably the best choice for 120hz in that price range.

I'd recommend it if you play a lot of FPS games on the PC as well, being able to get at least 90FPS or above. Nowhere near worth it for console gaming.

Do you know whether the DVI/HDMI on the Planar will do 120hz? I was looking at the Samsung S23A750D and I was VERY interested in it but apparently it only runs 120hz with displayport.

Also, do you know how the Planar and that Samsung compares?

*sorry about any thread hijacks*

Dual link DVI will do 120hz. I believe HDMI is 60hz, which is the same as a single link DVI cable.

Does anyone know the input lag on the S27A350H, and how it compares to other monitors in terms of response time/ghosting??
I just went with the S27A950 Samsung 120Hz monitor and from everything I've read it is just about the best 27" 120Hz monitor out there. Several people here on OCN (as well as reviews) have even said the color reproduction of it compares to IPS panels like the U3011 and the ZR30W despite the TN panel. I can't wait to fire mine up!
