It would handle your stated needs very well, without any issues, that is from my own experience! You should be more than okay for everything except high end gaming! So save yourself some money and don't get a discrete card just for an HTPC!
I am currently running on my IGP on the sig rig (the Phantom) as my GPU is out RMA'd and waiting for a new one! Have used it for everything except games, Blu-rays play really well, 1080p no problem at all! Been running on this for the last week or so and have yet not experienced any issues!
Sandy bridge and Llano handles all HTPC needs pretty well, if you haven't already bought or own the parts for the build I would definitely suggest looking at the Llano processors (A4 or A6) for an HTPC! More cost effective and better IGP than HD 3000!
