Even possible? SUB 800.00 dollar build starting with nothing! - Page 3

Swap the PSU to this:

http://www.amazon.com/OCZ-ModXStream-Modular-Performance-compatible/dp/B001EYV690/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1323787463&sr=8-2

OCZ 600w for $40.

It's unbelievable that the same PSU was just recently linked for $15 MORE.

Do you people not research things before you buy them? Seriously?

Grand total - $867.46 (plus any tax/shipping)

You can probably shave money off the monitor and possibly the OS if you can find a student to purchase it for you. That would get you right around $800.

You can figure out the mouse and keyboard, but I'm sure you can find a combo for under $20.

You really can't beat the i5/mobo combo at Micro Center right now.

It's possible, and not that hard. My sig rig maxes out bf3 on ultra at 45fps (bare minimum) outside. This rig will max it out easily.

EDIT*: If you need a monitor, get this instead:

+

That will be below 800$. All you need is an os, i think you can take care of that.... wink.gif

I love everybody recommending a 60GB SSD.... Do you guys realize my current install of BF3 is sitting at around 18GB?

Good luck playing anything more than a game after you get that OS + random programs installed!

and @polm you forgot the OS and Monitor biggrin.gif

Yea screw a SSD and get a Seagate/WD hard drive or something else. Also the OCZ 600w PSU was linked, so I'm not sure why people are still linking lower wattage/higher priced PSU's.

Besides, linking an i5 2400 for $190 when you can get the i5 2500k for $180? REALLY?

OP, you need to do your homework. Research components that you want and put them together. You have to find out where you can shave money on some items, and where you need to put more in other items (like NOT an SSD).
