[Yahoo Games]Modern Warfare 3′ is the fastest to $1 billion - Page 3

Call of Duty does it better. TDM sucks on BF3 and without large amounts of players Conquest just isn't fun. (Unless it's Tehran Highway and I can use my M98B to troll everyone).

I agree that the best parts were first few minutes, however it kind of went off in another direction you wouldn't expect which made it a little different then other movies. It really was not that bad at all. You are making it sound like it is as bad as this jack/jill movie. Rotten tomatoes gave it 93%, which I can say that was a little too high, it should be in 70-80%. The music had a 80s vibe to it, I dunno what porn you are watching. What movies this year do you think are good?

I quite liked it. Very stylistic.

Sounds to me like you'd enjoy the Fast and Furious movies better. Check out Tokyo Drift I'm sure you'll love it.

Also, the COD singleplayer is kind of arcadey and fun. It is what it is. BF3 has grown boring real quick, but I'm not a hardcore FPS guy by any means.

Wow I hate to go really off-topic with this:

I'm just pointing out that the trailer (as pretty much any movie, not denying that) made Drive look like it was an all-out action film filled with car chases and heists, and it turned out NOT being that way at all. I can't play back the music exactly as it was in my head, but I definitely recall all of us jokingly linking it to porn-style music, as such: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4fYfdlKIon4

Not being all of them:

Immortals
The Thing
(Hopefully Mission Impossible, watching it soon)
Super 8
Bridesmaids
Captain America
Horrible Bosses
Transformers 3
Thor
X-Men First Class
Limitless
Real Steel (possibly my favorite this year)
Pirates of the Caribbean (didn't see it but I hear great things)
Fast Five (maybe my 2nd favorite)
Unknown (love anything with Liam)
Bad Teacher (not a great one but I think even then it outdid Drive...)
I Am Number Four
Hall Pass

I'm sure I'm missing some from this year...

Yeah, if those movies you listed above are your cup of tea then you aren't going to like Drive. Especially when you go into it thinking it's something it's not. I sort of like 2 movies off your list up there, this has been the absolute worst year for movies that I can remember in a while.

Blame the studios though for putting out a misleading trailer, not the actor or directors. This film chooses style over non-sensical action like a Fast Five movie would. Hell, a woman even sued over this movie for the "mis-leading" trailer.

Kind of funny, you guys chew up COD for being mainstream garbage then you'll post a list of movies you're down to see that includes Transformers and Pirates of the Carribean......yeesh.

Immortals - Decent
The Thing - Haven't seen
Super 8 - Good
Bridesmaids - Good
Captain America - Good
Horrible Bosses - Decent
Transformers 3 - Bad
Thor - Good
X-Men First Class - Good
Limitless - Good
Real Steel - Haven't seen
Pirates of the Caribbean - Bad
Fast Five - Good
Unknown - Decent
Bad Teacher - Decent
I Am Number Four - Bad, nothing even happened till the last couple of min...
Hall Pass - Bad

My 2c on those movies.

I agree with you on several things:

It's been a pretty weak year 2011 is actually the year where the most sequels have ever been released, with 28 sequels. Sequels are, in most cases, terrabad.

Blame the studios. Yes. In every way possible. I know that. It's marketing, and it was well done marketing, it surely did its job!

But I do have to disagree on Transformers 3, I thought it was pretty good aside from the medicore acting. Good amount of action and the special effects were good. Pirates: I did say I haven't seen it, and I lost taste for the series after the second. As for Fast Five, I'd say it was the best of the series. Enough with the movie talk!

People who don't know how to watch movies did not enjoy Drive.

You don't go into movies with expectations, you watch them and then evaluate how effective they were at conveying what they were made to convey, in the way they were made to convey it. Too many people these days go into a theater expecting something of a movie when it was made with a completely different intention. Drive was mis-marketed; It was far from a bad movie. In fact, it was extremely unique in it's presentation and the people who understand that enjoyed it very much.
