[Yahoo Games]Modern Warfare 3′ is the fastest to $1 billion - Page 4

Man I have to agree about Drive being mis-marketed. Then again so was Fight Club in a few aspects. It happens because movies = lots and lots of money spent investors want a return on. As for Drive.. I loved it. Good version of art-house cinema meets action/violence. At least the action scenes carried meaning with them. Oh well I could go on for an essay but not the point here.

As for MW3 I agree that it was just not for me and other games deserved something like this happening to them. But mad props for them doing it. Apparently its quite popular lol. (That was sarcasm) biggrin.gif

When you make a game easy and appeal to a wider audience plus popularity, of course you'll capture a large portion of the market share.

no, homefront is testament to how marketing can't make the game.

Agreed with this sadly. I was in Target yesterday getting some wrapping paper and what not for Christmas when I heard a boy who couldn't have been more than 6 who asked to show his grandmother the game for Christmas, he said call of duty. Then a teenage girl I'm guessing she was about 14 - 15 came up to her dad who was on the same aisle as me and said the new call of duty is on sale for $50 and her dad said no, I wanted to applaud him but I held it in. It's sad that kids these days are influenced by garbage like this.

Not being all of them:
Immortals
The Thing
(Hopefully Mission Impossible, watching it soon)
Super 8
Bridesmaids
Captain America
Horrible Bosses
Transformers 3
Thor
X-Men First Class
Limitless
Real Steel (possibly my favorite this year)
Pirates of the Caribbean (didn't see it but I hear great things)
Fast Five (maybe my 2nd favorite)
Unknown (love anything with Liam)
Bad Teacher (not a great one but I think even then it outdid Drive...)
I Am Number Four
Hall Pass
I'm sure I'm missing some from this year...

You should check out warrior, by far my favorite movie of this year.

You wanted to applaud because she wasn't able to get a game that YOU dislike, I guess that's cool. Everyone has their own opinion and most of the people who play COD want to play with their friends. Hating is getting way out of hand lately.
