missing dll's please help

Thread Starter
recently about 2 days ago i tried opening my device manager and got a mfc42u.dll error. so i looked around for a solution and didnt really find much. long story short, i tried opening up other programs just yesterday and i get other errors related to some missing dll's also.
and trying to move windows around, clicking on icons, moving icons etc is very glitchy and unresponsive, some items will open up with a single click when it should be a double click. im not sure if it was a mistake i made through ccleaner or what. any help on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated.
thanks

If you did not do anything differently with CCleaner than what you have done in the past, you did not change something else in Win7 and this just started then the first thing I would do is scan for a virus with malwarebytes and spybot.

If nothing shows up try a system restore if you have it enabled.

thanks for the links. the spybot found two things in the program files. if that was it, i have no idea. how could i go about fixing the missing dll's/glitchy windows. i read that the main dll i was talking about when trying to open device manager is related to visual c. whitch has alot to do with the performance of windows right? is there any way i could do a fresh install of visual c? could that be my only problem?
