Not sure if you can even buy these sorts of things anymore, but a friend of mine was looking for a new mobo for his q6600 has really odd problems when oc'd with his old board. Any recommendations?

your best bet would be to check out the for sale section, or head over to micro center.

I would recommend possibly upgrading instead of putting more money into the 775 board.

A great board for that processor is the Gigabyte P45 UD3P or UD3R, and if you want something slightly newer the EP45T USB3P is an awesome board (I have one with my Q6600).  You'd have to buy these boards used though, because I dont think anyone sells them anymore, although I did get mine at Frys about 2 months ago (open box).
