Timings for Sniper 1866s @ 1600

Thread Starter
Ive got a pair of g.skill sniper 1866's in my motherboard but since my cpu tops at 1600 I have it sitting there. Since Im not using the fastest speed these memory sticks are capable of are there better timings I could be using at stock voltage?

Stock timings are 9-10-9-28

I would run the stock timings at 1600 and trade some cpu multi for some reference clock to OC the ram up towards 1866.
It would only take 230-235 to get the ram up to 1866.

See chart here http://www.overclock.net/t/594829/phenom-ii-cpu-northbridge-ram-chart-am2-am3

Tighter latencies won't provide any tangible system performance gain but you can try them for grins.

I'm using 9-9-9-24-33-2T at 1.5v, no issues.

I've had mine running at 1960Mhz with an FSB of 245 and timings of 9-10-9-27, and 2000Mhz with 250 FSB and 10-11-10-29. At the moment they're running at 1824 because it lets me reach a 4.1Ghz CPU, 2.73 NB, and 2.2 HT Link.

So yeah, your CPU doesn't top at 1600. Also, benchmarks were best at the current 1824 settings, and second best at 1400Mhz with timings of 7-7-7-19. The difference between those 2 was a few points, I just prefer the bigger numbers smile.gif
