If you'd like to directly support the site you can get an Overclocked Account: http://www.overclock.net/a/overclocked-accounts

Normal user won't catch this and won't see the links any differences. But it happened I log everything I do on the web and every url. The Glimmerblocker was able to slow down the redirection and I see 2 redirection going on before hitting back to the product page.

That's 2 view of ads but hidden. It may sounds like a statistic log for OCN but apparently those website are ads agency.

I was curious if it was my computer and my network. So far I've tested in different computers and places. Same. I don't mind if this is intentional unless it forces user to see something before redirecting to another page. Or someone hacked around the forum injecting code that intercept links? =P
I'll have a go at explaining this... You know rig builder and the reviews section? Well all the products in there come from a product database(just click on the reviews button at the top of the page, you'll get what I mean), which iirc is newegg and tiger direct(and amazon has something to do with our uploaded images, can't say exactly what because I'm not on that side of this site but I thought it'd be worth mentioning)... chances are it is just something to do with you accessing those databases. What you are accusing this site of sounds very illegal, and I doubt huddler or overclock.net would do something like this(although there are slightly less sinister explanations for it as well explained the best I can above).

Using ad block? OCN generates a fair bit of revenue from advertisements... not hidden mind you tongue.gif

I think you missed the point. He is mentioning that the ads that are on OCN are done through website affiliations, which he would be correct in noting. OCN has made this information public a long time ago in the "Overclock.net News and Information" subforum with regards to adding another method in producing revenue on the site (by using affiliation programs offered by some of the big names (NewEgg, NCIX, etc)).

This is not "Hidden" information though.

I would find you the link to the thread, but this site is extremely slow for me lol

Thread Starter

I've changed the title. So it doesn't sound like an accusation but thanks for explaining this. I was curious that I thought I had some malware or spyware installed on my system which redirect every browser URLs.

Ghostery can disable trackers etc

Ghostery is a browser tool available for Firefox, Chrome, Safari, Opera and Internet Explorer. It scans the page for scripts, pixels, and other elements and notifies the user of the companies whose code is present on the page. These page elements aren't otherwise visible to the user, and often not detailed in the page source code. Ghostery allows users to learn more about these companies and their practices, and block the page elements from loading if the user chooses.

Can't I just choose the Site not to use it at all through profile options?
