Playstation 3D Display VS Asus VG278H

Hey All,

I was looking into getting a 3D capable display / tv (once again) and have kinda boiled the decision down to 2 key displays.. The Playstation 3D Display and the Asus VG278H.

Sony Playstation 3D Display
Nice looking (albeit reflective) display from sony to sell their 3D PS3 features.

Pros:
+Copy of Motorstorm: Apocalypse
+Component Hookups (I love to hookup old systems)
+Speakers (probably terrible)

Cons:
-Reflective surface.. I mean god, that thing was better than a mirror
-Supposedly bad with monitor text
-24" is nice but bigger woulda been nicer
-SimulView has absolutely 0 use IMO haha.

Questions:
?How hard is it to get it to work with 3D vision? *I haven't found a lot of info about it so I am not sure if I need to buy the NVIDIA 3D Vision kit as well (greatly increasing pricing)
?How is the ghosting / bleed? *Most reviews give small tests but nothing quite to the degree the VG278H gets

Asus VG278H
Sexy looking monitor with a bevvy of neat features (mostly stand related.. Love height adjustable)

Pros:
+27". Not much over the PS3 but 27" would be nice when using it for movies
+Includes 3D Vision kit The kit isn't cheap...
+DVI 3D
+Speakers

Cons:
-No Component (not a big deal)
--Questionable quality
-Price

Questions:
?Is the failure rate of this monitor really that bad?
?What would one need to hook this up to a ps3 and use 3D?

So there are my 2 choices and my current opinions / questions. I have done a fair bit of research into both but there always seems to be one glaring question that goes unanswered in the reviews. If anyone would like to answer one of my questions or even give me their 2 cents on one of the monitors (or even a third choice) I would greatly appreciate it.

Thank you very much

PS: --I am not hard set on either of these monitors. They are just the 2 that came up most frequently in my search for a console / monitor 3D compatible display. Any better suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Geez, after much more research and reading I am finding out that the playstation 3D display doesn't even work with the NVIDIA 3D Vision, despite me being told at the sony store that it does. Plus, the VG278H has nothing but mixed reviews and almost 0 people talking about PS3 3D on the device.. Oh boy, I need to act quick to get in on the deals going on for monitors at my local store but it is hard to commit to a device when you are unsure of its quality as well as performance.

So I guess I can widen my search...

Requirements
+Nvidia 3D vision capable
+PS3 3D capable
+120+HZ (I love my 120HZ Samsung at work)
+23+"
+$700~

So those are the basic requirements.. Obviously, the nicer the monitor looks the better. I will be doing some research myself and will post back here anything I find just in case someone has the same questions as me and stumbles upon this..

Anyways, if you have any input/help you can give me, please do so as it would be much appreciated.

Thanks again!

Pretty sure the Playstation display is FPR based the Simul view would actually be helpful, my LG 47" has the same type of feature, just put the game in split screen

The ASUS is true 120hz which means it supports 3D Vision (active glasses 3D) The PS3D is not

Apparently I was mistaken the PS3D Display is "240hz" and Active. Not really sure how they do SimulView then...

Hmm.. The V3D245 looks very appealing.. Mostly because of the PS3 compatibility and the price tag isn't half bad.. Normally I am pretty wary of ViewSonic but I think I might check it out..

I did a bit of research on the monitor and I cant seem to find too much about it.. Mostly a few small reviews here and there from small tech websites..

So if anyone has the monitor or has used it, feel free to post something.. I will continue to research haha.

Thanks!

Pretty sure the 240hz on the Sony 3D Display is fake or TV like 240hz so you dont get nvidia 3D Vision working properly on it ever, you will get the same type as people using nvidia cards for 3D on a regular 3DTV which is capped at like 24fps or something,

I cant find anything solid relating to the V3D245... I will make a call tonight to my local computer store and see if they can set up a demo or if I can purchase it and return it if need be.. Honestly though, this monitor just has to perform better than my Asus VH236H with 2D content..

Anyways, I will not be making the call for awhile so if someone has any more info, feel free to post.. If not, I will test the monitor out when I get it.. It won't be professional grade reviewing but with the lack of information I doubt it could hurt.

*Dbl post I know.. More a bump*
