Crossfire Pci-E question.

I just bought a couple of Sapphire Dual fan 6970s for crossfire. However, I do not know which Pci-E slots to put them in. (My motherboard is an Asus MIVE-Z) I need the cards to be spaced out due to the dual fan design... But, I do not know which slots are best. Should I put the cards in slots 1&3 or 1&4?

I'm looking at the size of those cards, and I don't know if it would be physically possible to put two next to each other (slots 1&3). I think the heatsink+fan of one card will bump against the PCB of the card below it.

You'll probably have to put them in slots 1&4. Are all the PCI-E lanes x16?

Yes, I believe they are all x16 slots.

on that board

i would use slot 1 and 4, have some room between the cards for airflow. thumb.gif

Is anyone aware of which config they would run in? (in slot 1&4) I heard with some of the configs it will be x16 and others it will be x8.
I did a little reading and it looks like they will run x8 / x8. This is due to the NF200 chip on the board.

Well, that is fine... But, one more question. Will the crossfire bridge be long enough?
